Is Lashlee the most significant hire since Butch?

If the offense keeps producing like this you throw Venables $$$ at him to stay. Not every great coordinator has aspirations of being a HC. Hope & pray it’s the case with Lash. If he is consistently making millions as an OC with these types of athletes at his disposal everyone wins.

That was after Richt's first year. Everyone knew Richt wasn't going anywhere.
That guy is clueless. Says Blake James doesnt have a history of giving premature extensions, yet his career as AD at Miami Is riddled with doing this. The orange and green goggles are strong with that one.

Threat to leave?

It’s standard operating procedure doofus. I can give you more examples if u like.

Please stop for your own sake.
Wow, thanks for the red herrings. You provided examples that have nothing to do with your comment that Blake James never gave premature extensions. He has done it in multiple sports. You’ve been abused quite a bit today by several of us, so I’ll leave you to your own guise shielded by your thick orange and green glasses.

Do you need another 10 examples of other Power 5 teams doing the exact same thing as a normal course of doing business doofus or were the 5-6 I showed you not enough?

Or are you still figuring out the whole Golden thing out?

And while we’re at it, how’s that Utah State offense doing again?

After watching King take this offense to a new level I don’t see how we can go back to pocket passing QBs after he leaves..we need to go after dual threat qbs only

We can play red herring all day, mouthbreather. Plenty of examples of Power 5 coaches getting canned before they received an extension, too. So what? None of your examples disproves Blake doles out premature extensions like they’re candy on Halloween.

Oh... Aside from USC, none of those programs have our pedigree, and since when should we follow their practices given their larger budgets, weak histories, and massive alumni base? Apples and oranges. Laughable, mouthy.

I really have to give it to Manny. He is determined to not let himself or this program fail. Hiring Rhett Lashlee is agame changer. Are we “back”? I won’t say that until they are a legit playoff contender but I’m feeling really good about where we are heading. 2 straight prime time games with a third likely coming in two weeks is gold right now. Pull out a win at Clemson and it’s on. Even if they stay competitive recruits will see it cool to play for The U again.

He obviously is a great hire and looks awesome but I really think you guys are sleeping on how important an elite quarterback is to an offense.

I give 80% of the credit to King and 20% to the coordinator.

Not all Power 5 programs are well run. Do that mean we should feel comfortable in our foolishness?

An extension should be a reward for doing well.

It wasn’t about leaving, it was about other schools questioning his long team commitment to coaching when recruiting.
Since he retired shortly there after, it was a valid concern. Signing him to an extension doesn't mitigate it. In fact, it could be used against us, "Miami is locked into a coach that's seen better days. They're going no where".

Nice objective perspective. A certain someone should take note.

This response made me chuckle. I'm glad you feel extensions should only be given for doing well. Unfortunately, in the real world, nearly every single Power 5 team does what we did with Richt. You know it and I know it.

A coach, when he has 2-3 years left on their deal a program will either **** can them or extend them, otherwise in recruiting they come across as a lame duck coach a school isn't fully committed to. I showed a half dozen examples today from just the last couple of years. I can come up with more if you like.

It has nothing to do with a program being run well. It is standard operating procedure.

I think Rhett and D’Eriq are a combo package. On their own, they are impactful, but together they can be program changing. It’s not fair to mention one without the other. Rhett’s system is great, but he needed D’Eriq to run it. Think Nkosi or any one of the other QBs would be this effective? **** no. Next year will be an issue - but I’m gonna enjoy this year first.
Depends on who the qb is! If its tvd he would be in lashlee's offense f4 2 yrs and im sure he will get mop up duty this year he was in at da end of yesterday's game.

Thanks for your insight, Mrs.James. Glad to see your husband is still learning on the job. Mouth breathers gonna mouth breathe!

He didn't have King at SMU and did just fine. What he did need was a good QB THIS season to jump start things. Next year he'll have three QBs that have been in the system a year. We'll be fine.

How he resurrected Shane Buchele(sp?) was amazing. Says a lot about that system and the coaching of Lashlee
