Kyle Wright 2.0?

Both highly recruited Cali QBs who've been major dissapointments.

It used to be Cali QBs were guaranteed future NFL stars if you landed one...

He is 10x better then Wright! Horrible comparison.

When he has time, he is spectacular. His issues start with his pocket awareness (none) to his slow feet to the bad line. The bad line really kills his skillset which is to sit and pick apart a defense with his accuracy. Once the line breaks down, he is done for bc he has zero awareness and cinder block feet.

Wright just wasnt good even if he had time.
 
Similar to Wright in that both showed tremendous potential early and played better as younger QBs than they did with more experience. Similar in that both were severely betrayed by revolving doors of incompetence at the OC spot.
 
Id say Brad Kaaya is a perfect comparison to Kyle Wright, subtle differences but overall both terrible qbs from California.
 
Kaaya still has a chance to be a lot better, if they somehow get a two monster JUCO OL in the sweepstakes, preferably at right and left tackle.

we could have the dallas cowboys offensive line and Kaaya would still be flopping around scared throwing 5 yard passes at WRs feet

Let us know when he becomes a mildly successful Medical Equipment Sales rep, then we'll have the answer.
 
Kyle Wright career numbers: 478-807 (59.2%) 5835 yds 38 TD 31 INT QB rating of 127.8

Brad Kaaya career numbers: 580-963 (60.2%) 8132 yds 54 TD 21 INT QB rating of 145.1

Kaaya has struggled a bit this year but the comparison is a 100% joke.


Wright was the #1 rated QB prospect coming out of high school. Everyone wanted him. He was supposed to be a sure thing.

Kaaya was rated significantly lower and hardly had any offers before his senior season. He hasn't shown significant improvement but you could argue that true freshman Kaaya was already light years better than Wright ever was.

Wright was more a victim of things He couldn't control than Kaaya. Namely, $hitty recruiting at the WR position (Brian Monroe @ WR?...LOL), and a horrible football culture under Coker & Shannon. At least Kyle had 2 road wins against ranked opponents (Clemson & VT) His 1st year, has Kaaya done that?...nope. And Kyle had better physical tools than Kaaya, ran a 4.5 coming outta HS, and He had a waaaaaay better arm. Can't blame Wright for $h!t going downhill after 2005.

Not a good comparison. Wright was a 5 star, can't miss prospect that was the Gatorade Player of the Year and the #5 prospect in the country. Kaaya had no where near those accolades or as high a level of expectations coming out of high school.

Ya but Kayaa has won multiple Greentree championships!
 
Wright had three different OC's, and a particular year had a terrible Offensive Line, which led to more interceptions and him getting sacked multiple times multiple games.

Part of the reason Kehoe got fired the first time.

I would say this year is reminiscent of that. Oline doesn't protect you, you'll lose confidence and make mistakes. Kyle Wright also had WR's with the case of drops.

I would say Kyle Wright had the higher ceiling of the two, but he nowhere got close to it. Kaaya was an is an overachiever. I say that as a positive thing. While Kaaya has a great arm, Kyle Wright had one of the best I've ever seen in terms of strength.

Kyle actually looked good early in his career but was overwhelmed by awful ol play . That Fsu 13 sack game was ridiculous, he was hit right after the snap
 
It takes an entire team, offense and defense, to win a game and appear solid at QB...Kaaya's going to walk away as Miami Hurricanes all time leader in records at QB.
