It is MUCH harder for high school basketball players to accidentally be given 5 stars than football players. They play the top talent all summer and are constantly required to show off their offensive and defensive skills. For instance if you look at QBs in 7v7 it's not the same because you don't know exactly how they'll perform with good d lines breathing down their neck and opposing DBs and LBs who have watched your film and critiqued everything you do. That's rarely as big of a deal in basketball, and 5v5 is exactly what you're always going to see at every level.
