Is Gonzalez taking shots at Manny?

Not surprising to hear Manuelita is stubborn - heck he prevented the Highsmith hire and sounds like he doesn't want to get rid of Baker (the latter is still TBD)...firing Blake James eliminates Manny's safety valve and puts enormous pressure on him to win...NOW.

Nobody seems to no what Reed job is at UM I see

Manny navarro has said they all have input into the defensive strategy including ed. also, along with that, ed doesn't want to be a coach right now from what I had read and heard (at least in terms of being out on the road as an assistant recruiting daily). hes the chief of staff tho and hes in there from time to time.

Small person big ego. Manny has a chance to make needed changes. If he makes them it tells me he’s about winning at all costs. If he trots out the same stuff on D with the same scheme next year, tells me he is a beta that only wants yes men around him.

not sure his ego is as big as you guys make it out to be. hes shown he isnt stubborn so far. hes gonna have a chance to prove that again this offseason. will he? well see but it'll be the next checklist thing he needs to do in order to keep his job

So yeah, Joaquin's frustrated and called out Manny, exposing the fact that Manny apparently isn't listening to #20's input. So how does everyone see this shaking out? Are negative comments from alumni impactful? Do the comments have to be cumulative from various alumni to make a difference? After all, we've seen this all before. Does Ed just walk having realized there isn't an opportunity to make a difference?

@hoops156 Did you really right about a checklist Manny "needs to do in order to keep his job." I don't think some of us are paying attention.

Manny Diaz will no matter what happens, be the coach of the Miami Hurricanes for the next two seasons. And if he manages to win 8 games in those seasons he will continue to coach at the U. People forget what some posters continually mention, which is the front office the administration simply does not care. They made their minds up a long time ago that they did not want the attention, the drama and potential embarrassment that comes with having a great football team. The irony is that having a bad one has created quite a bit of negative attention (laughingstocks of college football) drama and wasted money on failing coaches and more than a few outright embarrassing losses over the last 15 years.
Bottom line the U administration is content with collecting checks. In fact it made out better than some schools cause they played ten games and went to a bowl game.
The proof is in the absolute insanity that passes for a coach and a football team. So folks should just sit back and simply hope we get lucky that is we recruit enough talent that they can win on their own and players that are not afraid to hold teammates accountable since Manny is not going to do it. That combination may produce a few ten to twelve win seasons.

A true Cane. Guy gets it. **** you, Blake James and BOT for putting us in this position, again!

id blame the BOT more than Blake at this point. hes just a figure head there. we've had three diff ADs since dee and all have made horrific hires (including dee himself). time to look at the people beyond the AD as to why the results haven't changed when the AD has
