The anti Butch guys and over the top Butch guys are literally feeding each other into digging in harder. The anti Butch guys have about 100 threads in the last week about anti Butch sentiment while talking about the Butch cultist and cherry picking stats and even making stats up. The handful of guys who are over the top Butch are made out to be like it's this super large contingent. In reality half of the arguments are with guys who are just providing context to your stats or calling out the BS stats. The biggest thing here is that all your anti Butch heel digging has actually fueled the over the top Butch guys to go harder. Then when they go harder you anti Butch guys get all crazy and dig in even more. It's becoming a vicious cycle. I honestly can't wait until this job search is over, because this is getting older than the 100 Anti Golden threads each week, and I was ready for Golden to be gone about 3 years ago. The saddest part here is that almost every single person on either side of the argument has Butch in their top 5. Lets just be excited to get a fresh start and move on. LET IT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had two "fresh" starts since we ran out of Butch's players. Ooops. Oh well, trusting Blake, the administration, or the BOT to make a good decision is like expecting President Obama to go hard on his moslem brothers. I'm for Butch because I believe he is our best and maybe only hope to return to what we were AND that being who we were is the ONLY way program will survive. Most of the anit-Butch people think we need to "modernize" of offense and go with a coach who can do that. If we all want to win and program to return to GREATNESS then fighting over the way is fine. I want the talent Butch has proved he can bring to THE U and am willing to sacrifice some X and O stuff for it. The other side wants those Xs and Os. It is a good fight. Enjoy it. Soon Butch will be here and everything will be okay.

So.... The same thread over and over again in different versions is annoying?

BTW - not sure there is anti-Butch heel until last night.....there are very few anti-Butch folks.....there are more shut the **** up about Butch folks....we get you like him, we like him too, but he is not perfect or an instant solution and sure as **** not Saban, Meyer or Kelly.

Labeling people anti-Butch is the same **** that lead to the 100 anti-Golden threads you mentioned.

Not really. But if we are then people need to be honest about Butch and the risks that come with hiring him back - just like the risks of other coaches are being evaluated.

Not really. But if we are then people need to be honest about Butch and the risks that come with hiring him back - just like the risks of other coaches are being evaluated.

That is fair and I have accepted that already. With that said I'm not running around here acting like he is going to be urban or saban, but I believe if given the chance he could be. None of us have seen a true butch team without sanctions. Are we going to get year 3 North Carolina or his last year at Miami? None of us really know but I will take my chances. I would also be realistic and take one the stud coaches to have been name if available but I don't see that happening.

Sure, that can be found anywhere. I've no problem with anyone taking a position one way or another. It's what happens when peeps run out of ideas that things start to decay.

The gap between firing and hiring is being filled with uncertainty and frustration. Completely understandable and reflects the lack of confidence in the AD/BOT.

No problem w/ folks taking different positions, but we got some dumb *** complaining because Butch lost the first game of the season 34-29, in Washington, against what ended up being a top 5 team, and went 11-1. WTF!?! Are there better options than Butch? Absolutely - but that doesn't mean Butch wouldn't be a very good hire.

Is this site ever going to get over it? It flows seamlessly from one nonsensical argument to the next. From Randy to Al to now people actually putting Butch down. Its so tiring...

I'm starting to believe we will never actually go back to a functional forum. Its depressing how easily a bunch of ****** *** trolls like Thread Killa can ruin an entire forum.

Mods really should get a handle on this, but I know that won't happen.
