Is FSU Actually Good?

Here’s my observations of FSU so far this year, and the reasons why I think we roll next Saturday:

Castellanos is basically a RB masquerading as a QB. I’ve been telling Nolies all year I have little to no faith in his ability to throw the ball. He’s a good runner, and a perfect fit for Malzahn’s system, but I think we should be able to easily bottle up their run game which will force them to throw the ball leading to some serious issues for them.

Secondly, I still think they are an average-below average team in the trenches. D.Jackson looks like he’s actually regressed and I don’t see anyone on their LOS that would start for us.

I had more thoughts and would love to delve deeper but as usual this site is practically unusable with all the pop-ups and lag. Something needs to be done about this…so frustrating. But I digress…

Their D Line is small and got worn down by the 4th quarter. The media hyped them up so much after Bama for no reason. I don’t care if you break all the school records for offense if it’s against East Texas A&M. You should beat up directional schools. The FSU fan base was so eager to have a better season than last year that they fail to see the flaws in this years team

I mean he was the calling plays everywhere he has been. Not like became Mike Gundy at FSU
 
On the field rushing topic… they just need to set rules for schools with that stadium design where behind the goalpost it’s basically a hill. UVA’s students were a couple yards from the back end zone line which is why it happened so quickly. They obviously should not be able to stand that close.

Honestly, my opinion of fsu hasn’t changed after uva. They are what they are - an offense that has feasted on crummy teams and caught a team by surprise with bama. It’s not a high powered offense bc castellanos misses a lot of throws and despite Riddick’s fawning of their OL and DL, those units are not impressive to me.
 
FanDuel has not budged the Miami -4.5 point spread following last night’s poor showing of F$U. I figured after watching that, it’s pretty clear F$U is who we thought they were.

Penalties for that need to be so much harsher compared to what they are now. Multiple people were apparently badly injured and it's a miracle that the FSU WR and Virginia DB got out of there unscathed.

Makes the game winning play on the ball and the next thing he sees is 10000 people coming for his ***
 
The *****ing and blaming of the refs will be intolerable..

I think our OLine is gonna feast on them… last night the shallow crossing routes were open for UVA so I expect to see a lot of Malachi…

If they blitz Beck will pick them apart slowly… if they sit back in zone the same will happen. Their Defensive front 4 cannot block our OLine so we will be running 4-6 yards a clip.

Defensively just maintain eye discipline… spy on Castellanos and don’t let anything behind you.

This is a game Mario has circled because he knows the importance of it. FSU has almost no solid depth outside their starters… you could see them getting worn down and I expect that next Saturday

UVA straight bullied them and had a ton of backups playing… if UVA didn’t commit the turnovers or had a better D then they would have gotten blown out
