Is every coach on this staff...

If Satan and his Infernal helpers can win bama
It's no reason a Christian cant win football games.

He tends to hire kiss asses that the root of the problem.. ever since jeremy Pruitt cursed him out at Georgia.

Another genius here.

Nobody is saying Christians cant do well.

What we are saying is that it seems doing well comes SECOND to being a good christian for Mark, which is completely unacceptable.

I repeat I don't care what you ascribe to off the field or in your personal life. Was this issue raised last year when UM won 10 in a row and reached #2 in the country? Out of bounds totally uncalled for.

Missing the point.
The question has NOTHING to do with Richt Christianity.
The question is would Richt hire an assistant coach that’s not s Christian.
Example and it just a hypothetical....if the best OC available is ****** or Catholic or a Buddhist or god forbid an Atheist would Richt hire him?

1 Samuel 15:3

Now go, attack the opposing school and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; annihilate coaches and players, starters and scout teams, assistants and support staff, faculty and students.'"

A devout born-again?

You look at all these guys social media and every single one is deeply deeply into christianity, more so than any staff I can remember.

I ask bc I find it ridiculous that a coach’s faith should be so important in getting a job here. Perhaps if we werent saddled with the requirement that a staff member must know the bible front to back, we’d have more qualified coaches here.

It’s ridiculous bc Jesus’s whole thing was to preach to and covert sinners.

RICHt needs to ask himself WWJD?

Jesus would hire Art and Kendal Briles

U is a private school and MR can put together a staff how he see fit. He has stated, they must be superior family men, spiritual sound, role models, mentors...and football coaches. So that eleiminates many assistants.

Meanwhile our offense doesn't have a prayer(of success)....

He said they have to be spiritually sound? If so, that pretty much proves OPs point.
That’s what I recall, because I agree with it...though it does make a staff that meets criteria more different to find. And he did say he wanted to help players become more spiritual regardless of their religion

So we are paying a coach to improve kids spirituality? Absolutely ridiculous and inappropriate.

He should have been fired the day he handed out bibles to the team. Completely unacceptable from a goddam football coach.

Threads like this are why part of me doesn't care if we ever become relevant in football again. Eventually the trash element of the fan base has to get bored and find something else to do.

LOLOLOL the guy hires people based on their religious fundamentalism and Im the trash?

How about leave the religion **** out of it and put the best staff in place and focus on football and not the bible? Otherwise he’s using his position to do something he wasnt hired to do.

Jagr spends all his time spewing racist white supremacist ****, but Im the trash bc I think its inappropriate to hire a staff based on how religious they are. Amazing.

You and others are simply intimidated by religion. That's why it comes up so much around here.

Hyperbole doesn't make your points any stronger.

And FYI, I didn't say you are anything. Maybe stop reading so much into it, or do something about the guilty conscience. One or the other.

huh? You think a coach’s religious belief should matter to him working at UM or not??

I think Mark Richt should hire whoever he wants. If that detail results in poorer employees, then it will eventually cost him his job. But I am in no place to tell a man who he should and shouldn't want to work with.
