every single conference fan base claims that they have the worst officials. Every fan base of every sport claims the officials are horrible and the worst ever. That's how we got instant replay, ABS system, coach's challenges, etc. The human element is what makes sports great. The players make critical mistakes, so do the officials. I used to be like you, and then I did a full statistical analysis mid last season and posted on cis.

Like most on here, I'm sick of the one-sided officiating we see. I recall a few years back when we had 2 first round DE (phillips and greg) and didn’t get a hold call all year (or something like that). This past Saturday, we saw some very obvious missed calls. The intentional grounding that wasn’t called. The hold on bain that would have been a safety. The illegal motion that wasn’t called for them. No holding calls against their oline. I could go on.

I decided to look at the stats. It is as you would expect.

Out of 136 teams

Miami is 123rd in Penalties Per Game, with 8.5

Anecdotally, please recall examples such as our 1st round phenom DE greg rousseau only have 1 holding call called all year - when my eyes literally saw a hold almost every down

How many holds were not called for Bain/Mesidor, that you witnessed in 4k HD ?

At a certain point, the officiating issues cross the line from normal human error and into bias or blatant cheating.
 
The holding calls are my biggest issue. We can’t return a punt or kickoff without one, yet our all Americans get mauled and nothing. It affects the game. That’s a lot of influence on the outcomes of drives/games. They could just be incompetent opposed to crooked. But either way it has been brutal

I'm a math guy, but even some of those terms made me pause and think. Excellent work (on the statistical analysis). Want to blow your mind? Look up NBA free throw stats of home v away. Then dig into 4th Q numbers of back to back away games. I think the ACC smells, but the NBA, in terms of referee legitimacy, is rancid.

Nah disagree, we are at once the least disciplined team in the country and also each opponent is the most disciplined team in the country and also has elite booked tackles...so much so that they are able to handle our two first round pick DEs without having to hold them at all.

I am personally looking forward this season to every team having multiple first team all american interior linemen keeping Moten and Scott in check with zero holding involved.

It was soo bad even Roddy Jones had to call it out.. "In some places that may be called a lil bit of a hold. But not against the University of Miami THIS YEAR"

I still don't understand how the other guy who was correct, didn't blow his stack when the high-pitched moron filibustered and upheld the call cause "his foot may have been on the ground".
