is al tryin to keep his job?

Everybody's job is always in jeopardy, and should be. That's them big boy facts.

Al could do lots to get sacked, ask petrino.

I think Al is feeling the pressure, and his self interest (to save his job and career) is kicking in.

Pretty clear the same old same old excuses are running out of efficacy. No matter what he used to think, he better do it differently or soon do it somewhere else. He's got a family. That comes first. Change is a b#tch

All this requires pain and growth on his part, that's life. I think this is what we're seeing. I hope so.

Got some great recruiting classes coming. Time will tell

You can forgive the neb and gt losses? Say what? This is year 4, we shouldn't have these kind of losses in year 4.

golden doesn't have the mental make up to be coaching at this level. We have talent. But we don't have the staff to beat a better team with a better staff at x and o. And if they can't do that, why prolong the inevitable?

Maybe, just maybe, Nebraska is a good team. Maybe.

Oh. Got it we should lose to good teams. Maybe we should find a coach who can beat the good teams?

They are a decent 1 dimensional team that we have more talent than. Is that the expectation when we play a decent team is to lose? Or more the reality? I'm going with reality with the 4 years of data that I have.

I can for give the losses assuming al continues to give our defense a chance to do something. let our linemen and line backer get in the back field and cause some havoc. Pressure busts pipes, they don't even have to get a sack even pressure can cause a bad throw and good things can happen. If we play a run heavy team then stack the box and see if they can beat you with the pass. Im not saying run a 3-3-5 or blitz every play, just don't run a 3 man line unless its at least 3rd and 20 and try to make teams beat you with the pass so we can unleash the pass rushers and let the athletes in coverage make plays.

I am not a coach but it know if you have a bunch of athletes playing hard, fast, and aggressive they should be stout. even if they struggle we have a dynamic offence that is capable of scoring points in droves.

They are a middle of the pack team with a one dimensional offense. They lose to 20 out of the top 25 IMO. So if by good you mean better than us yes. If by good you mean a legit team, no.

Cue the baseless we have more talent claim.
Aside from being wrong about that they were the more experienced team playing at home against a true freshman QB.

But yeah we should have won that game because our recruiting rankings says we are more talented. Lovely

McNeese st(295), Fresno st(280), Michigan st(47), Northwestern(234), and Rutgers(292) all did better on run D than Miami(343).

We lost because our coaches played a prevent against a one dimensional zone read offense. This makes zero sense.

no, but when you lost to good teams, you don't mope about it.. especially when you're picked to be an above average team to begin with. We can't pretend this is the 01 canes that lost to some 4 loss nebraska team..

they probably finish the season 11-1... let's say 10-2 just to help your argument... that's still a good team. are they one dimensional? sure, but that doesn't make them bad, especially when that one dimension is pretty good.

What about when you lost by double digits to good teams? Does that change anything?

pelini's been there for 7 8 years, while we may have recruited better than they have in the time that golden has been here, that doesn't mean we're a better team.

like i said, if this were the 01 canes, sure, this is the 2014 canes, who by all accounts (unbiased) were a 7-9 win team.. if i'm racing a lexus v. a porsche and i lose, i can't be mope about it.

Even if we accept that they are good why can't UM expect to beat good teams in year 4 of Folden's tenure? They took their one dimension and stomped us with it.

We are in golden's 4th year and that was when it was supposed to all come together. You don't remember posting that super fan?
