Its up to them...but IF it were up to me...I'd fight against him coaching my high school football team
LOL ... sometimes it feels like going thru a time warp into an alternate reality, doesn't it ?Is this real life? What in the **** am I reading from some of you.
Golden was worst because he manipulated kids. Even going back to temple he had kids who hated himThe Foldenites are back smh...
Al ****face Folden is the worst corch in modern school history, worse than Coker & worse than Shannon.
There's a bunch of more qualified coaches that deserve a shot more than Folden at Rutgers.
Jason Candle, Lance Leipold, Chip Long, Kirk Ciarrocca, Warren Ruggiero, Marcus Freeman, Mike Lynch, Nick Howell & even a young guy like Fran Brown are all better choices for Rutgers over a retread like Folden.
He was also a horrendous recruiter.Golden was worst because he manipulated kids. Even going back to temple he had kids who hated him
im no fan of al golden but the guy had sanctions hanging over his head and lets be real, Mannys defense was built on his holdovers. He was also a horrendous recruiter.
The misses he had were 2nd to none... People are giving him way too much credit for the kids that went to the league under his tenure, the majority of those kids would've came to Miami regardless of who was coaching or recruiting them, they simply loved the U.
His recruiting was so bad it actually set us back for years & basically buried the program, even still now to this very day has had a negative impact on our ability to turn the outlook of the program around. He's the reason we became a complete laughing stock on the recruiting trail & we haven't recovered from it yet because most of the kids we're recruiting now grew up watching the Folden lead Canes when they were in Middle school.
His misses far outweighed his hits. He was a pure trash corch & his game day coaching was by the far the worst I've ever seen. People seem to forget, the worst loss we ever suffered in school history came at the hands of Al Folden's ineptitude.
He was a ****** a recruiter, that's an inarguable fact.im no fan of al golden but the guy had sanctions hanging over his head and lets be real, Mannys defense was built on his holdovers.
Also, coley, berrios, the tight ends, etc. come on
his players were the reason we won 10 games. Look im glad he's gone but he missed alot but fair is fair.He was a ****** a recruiter, that's an inarguable fact.
Were there good players here during his time, sure of course there were, but the ones he missed locally far supersede the ones he landed.
His recruiting was subpar & the good players we had on this team while he was here were vastly under developed, he never did sh*t with what talent he did manage to get.
Let’s not forget him seeing his players mom in the hospital days after getting fired. He had some shortcomings, but he was class act when it came to caring about his players.Yes!
Would really like to see him get a shot as a HC again.
Notwithstanding his other pluses and minuses. I still vividly remember him immediately running out on the field to see (an injured) Malcom Lewis.![]()

Can’t live in fear bro. Get your mindset out of that space. That's the point. If they were looking at hiring somebody else, there's always a chance they'd get it right.
If Golden would've just fired Donuts and hired a real DC and let him run it, he might have pulled it off at the U. Truly is a shame.
I'm still holding a little bit of a grudge, but you're right. Both of them were very close to being successful, but that's what makes it so disappointing. You can so clearly see how good we could have been, especially with Richt.Golden did his best, and he was dealt a difficult hand. Golden and Richt could have both been successful if either would have got over their ego hired the right coordinator.
I hope Golden gets the Rutgers job and wish him the best of luck. My beef with him is over and the same guys for any of our old coaches.
edit: Rutgers job
Always stuck out to me as well.Yes!
