From what I understand, that is a nonbinding agreement? If so, they would still have to sign another document to make it a binding agreement? Any help from the lawyers online here?
An MOU is essentially an agreement before the agreement. It’s not that it’s nonbinding; it’s that it’s a precursor to the actual contract. Think of it as the outline for the essay.

So their contention is this.

1. We want to remain independent.
2. If we expand to 14-16, we will automatically be in every year and still not have to hold ourselves to the scrutiny of being in a conference?

Just how arrogant can one organization be. They have done NOTHING in 30+ years, and their last ring was against West Virginia in a cheesy bowl configuration that didn't allow real competition to award a champion, that ring is considered one of the weakest outside of the Washington split in the last 50 years.

The media has propped up Notre Dame into something they are not. They are not worthy of being considered a championship contender year in and year out, even though they have had all the resources of the top ten in recruiting classes and other means.

They are the most delusional group of folks in all NCAA football.
This LITERALLY makes it so if Notre Dame loses 2 games or less they are a 100% lock for the CFP.

Absolutely absurd corrupt bull****. Pure insanity.

They will lock up an AQ for being top 12, when no team in a ******* conference gets an AQ for being ranked top 12 WIHTOUT WINNING THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

Notre Dame getting preferrential treatment to JUMP an At-Large team is absolutely disgusting.

Don’t forget #3 We still want conferences to support them, partner them, and even make PR campaigns advocating for ND ahead of their own member schools.

Exactly. ND wants to have its cake and eat it too. They can't expect the ACC to just be a "partner," but then campaign for it over its own member schools.
Especially when they also hoard 20 million in playoff revenue. Nvm that the acc shares that amongst everyone in the conference when a member makes the playoff.

The money grab ND makes when getting in the playoffs is the biggest crock of **** in all of sports

I do give Mario that credit over his predecessors. They were to stubborn to make changes where he has made major adjustments when needed.
I think he has grown in the job here, addressed his critics with changes that were necessary.
I’m hoping he has learned from this experience. Stay aggressive, score whenever possible, and caveman football begins with 2 minutes on the clock and up by 30
