IPF

I doubt Miami has the space (or finds the space) to build a 100 yard IPF. A 75 yarder wouldn't be bad at all TBH.

Many schools don't have a full 100 yard one. Regardless it's better than nothing which we currently have right now... Think about all of the missed practices we have had over the years due to Miami weather. This would be huge

Serious question...do you post in every single thread on this website?

If I'm bringing relevant info then why does that bother you? And no I don't

Simple answer yes, some schools including Georgia only have a 50 yard indoor field. They wouldn't use it all the time it would only be for when we have lightning in the area. So we can get our full practice times.

UGA practice at Falcon IPF when required...Agreement on Ipf done with CMR before he agreed to come...He battled for 15 yrs @uga to get one and was not going to go through that again.

Why exactly would it be huge, outside of bragging about it to recruits? Teams don't win or lose based on if they have an IPF or not. Can you tell us how many hours of practice the team has missed due to weather over the last ten years. Break it down by season please. Then compare that to the practice time of our opponents, season by season, going back the same ten year time frame.

It is absolutely huge. They practice at the butt crack of dawn to avoid the crazy Florida likes to throw out in the evening. So instead of delaying practice and going and practicing on a basketball court they would have an IPF. If you do not think we miss a significant amount of IDEAL practice time (actually on Green Tree) then you are out of your mind and must not live in Florida. They see 1 lightning strike they have to stop which in Florida is practically every evening.. So get your negativity out of here you communist

So what you're saying is that you don't have the numbers I asked about? You have no proof that the lack of an IPF is costing Miami games. We have proof that Miami has won a lot of games without one, even several championships. Where's the data on the flip side of that?

Dude, follow the team. Every year storms get practices cancelled. The NCAA won't let players take the field for 30 minutes after the LAST lightning strike. Yeah we won championships without them (one in the last 24 years) but it isn't 1980 any more. Who was supposed to keep the stats of delayed practices?

It's a recruiting tool. We won 5 without an IPF. The product on the field is what will be the end all.

70 yards is fine. Players can practice there year round with out the worry of heat or rain. It matters when you don't have even the basics which is what an IPF has become. You can also blare the crowd noise in there to simulate away games. Nebraska would crank that thing so loud on a Thursday or Friday before a big OU game or bowl game in the IPF. It helped with learning to communicate when you simply can't hear a guy even 2 feet away. Nebraska would also blast the heat in there to simulate Miami before an Orange bowl. So then you sweat your *** off for 2 hours and then have to run 300 yards outside at 0 degrees back to the locker rooms. Good times.

If Coley was calling the plays still it would only need to be 9 1/2 yards .

They need that much room to practice bubble screens? Now that I think about it, no Dnof need that space for the CBs

Nah, the CBs and Ss don't need to set themselves more than 20 yds behind the LOS. That's where they positioned when defending a 3rd and short.

Some of these kids are damned spoiled. So concerned with facilities, like the facilities will make them more likely to get them into the NFL. We sent a ton without an IPF, Still, with what these kids are looking for these days, we have to have one to compete for recruits, who are always saying they are going to visit a school to "see what they have to offer." Like, what do these kids have to offer a school? That's what I would prefer to hear a kid say. Can they make us better? I like the kids who come in saying I want to help make UM tops again.

Miami's IPF needs to be 100+yds in order match all of UM's direct recruiting competition: UF initially was building a 75 yd IPF but then ponied up the funds for a full size field.

Article about UF changing plans for IPF from 70yds to 120yds.
Florida Gators football?s new indoor practice facility going up fast, on schedule | ONLY GATORS Get Out Alive

FSU, UCF, VA tech, Bama, AU, Clemson, and UGA whom will build a 140yd facility.

I know a lot of people are Happy with the just the idea of having any IPF at Miami, but UM needs to get this right the first to me and build a full size field. Most schools have a full size field or planning to build a new full size 100+yd IPF.

Go Canes

That's because UF knows it need to prepare their kids better for the Canadian League.

Unless you are playing actual games in the PF then it means squat if tis only 80 or 70. That is twice what you need for 95% of what you do.. Largely drills during practice and scenarios (2 minute drill, red-zone, 45 yard fgs, installing offenses, etc)

Also, back when we were winning the NCAA did not have as strict hours you can practice. Back then the team would come out whenever they could and practice. You cant do that anymore. If you want direct stats I cant give them to you. One good stat is we are the ONLY power 5 team without a IPF. Its not only used for a recruiting tool it has so many more advantages that your tiny mind cannot comprehend it.

Lmfao what? You need proof that cancelling practiced or delaying it is bad and can hurt you, especially in Miami? That's common sense. Times have changed, Rules have changed, whether it's in game rules or weather rules. The ncaa have gotten strict like new concussion rules. There are even rules about hydrating players. Players can't go for a certain amount of time without water.

Miami won multiple title practicing in the heat, withholding water, having guys pass out.....

But let's forget new rules. Let's say the ncaa is the same. They don't care about the players and only the money they bring in. IPF can be a tool that can improve practice, improve the quality. Just because Miami didn't have one before doesn't mean they can't use one. Instead of canceling practice you can just continue it. Great player have always talked about learning new techniques to improve their game because once you stop improving that's when you fall back. There has been lots of innovations and improvements to the game. Ipf is one of those improvements.
