Apparently, Brock Purdy, Iowa State's freshman QB, who is starting for them tonight, is the son of Shawn Purdy, who played baseball at UMiami from 1987-1991.

Broadcaster said Purdy, who was Arizona's Gatorade player of the year last year, only had 2 offers until 48hrs before signing day.

Alabama offered him as a preferred walk-on, but he picked Iowa State scholly instead.

Random, but an interesting UMiami tie nonetheless.
