Iowa is going to get screwed over

Not looking for 8 team format - makes the regular season unimportant
- After loosing early Oklahoma and Bama had to win out to get into the playoffs - a bunch of teams could have beaten them and played their way in
- Same for MSU - had to beat OSU, Michigan and Iowa
- Clemson doesnt get in without beating FSU and Clemson

I agree completely with your point about an 8 team playoff. The season would become less important.

In Iowa's case, their schedule was crap. For the 4 team playoff...strength of schedule and actual season results drive the decision to pick 4 the final four teams. If Iowa would have beat Mich St, they would have been in....simple as that.
