They're as good or better than most of the other teams in the top 10 -- Clemson, Bama, OU, MichSt, ND, Baylor, OSU, Stanford, Mich

They would give any one of those teams a good game, and would beat 7 of em more often than not, imo (all but Clemson, Bama, OSU).

I've seen most of their games this year. They are a solid team, but don't get much press. Don't make a lot of mistakes. Tough D. Bethard is surprisingly good. Both OL & DL are among the best in the country. Jewel is a stud at LB. Ferentz & staff are the goods.

We'll see how they do in the championship game. That's probably the first game most folks will think is real on the schedule.

So that warrants the belief that they can beat teams with coaching JUST as good but with double the speed and talent?

I dont know about that man....

Their strength in the trenches does add major credibility but i dont know if thats enough. We will see.

The thing is they actually have some speed at the skill positions & in the def backfield. Desmond King has 8 int's this year.

They might end up like that Brad Banks team and get destroyed in a bowl game, but I don't think so.
 
I always give undefeated its due. They have beaten everyone who came before them. Next game will tell.
 
Who cares even if they are a fraud. If they win out and Notre Dame wins out they should be in the playoffs. If the committee jumps someone with a "big name" we then know this playoff is completely bull**** and only done to make money.
 
What kind of off topic bull**** is this? This has little more to do with the canes than Johnny Cash.

The difference is Greg Davis who ran the offense at Texas for years.
 
Davis has been there a few years. Not sure if he's calling different plays, or if Beathard is just that much better.

I saw an article that called this year's Hawkeye offense "relatively explosive." lol
 
Not a fraud, people have been calling them a fraud all year and waiting for them to lose and its just not happening.
 
Going with legit. At least as legit as any other team this year. Doesn't seem to be a clear number 1 right now anyway.
 
I'm not buying the lofty ranking, but it's deserved since winning always pushes people up the list.

Who knows, maybe they're like the Buckeyes we faced in the Fiesta. I'm not saying they're as talented, but neither team looked killer and sometimes looked flat out ugly in their wins.

So they've kept winning and that's all you can ask for is a shot. What you do on that day is up to you.
