I wouldn't necessarily say fraud, but I don't think they're the #4 team in the country. You have to have some nice connections in the Big10 office to miss Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State in the same year.
 
A meh schedule with good coaching has gotten them here. I think there DC Phil Parker deserves a raise this year.
 
Very good defense. Good football team with a relatively easy schedule. Wisconsin, Northwestern and Minnesota are good teams nothing more. The rest of the slate was been a joke.
 
Can only play what e schedule is.

That said don't think we will know even if they win today.
 
The balance of power in the big ten sure seems to be in the east this year (Michigan, MSU & ahia state).
 
Lucked out on their schedule this year. Can;t say fraud, they have taken care of business. I still think I would put Mich St, who has beaten 2 top 10 teams, ahead of them for the playoff. I'm hoping Nebraska beats them to keep them out, I don't think they are good enough.

Then again, everyone said the same about Oh st last year and they won it all.

Good team. Great coaching. With that said. i Don't have them beating any team with equal coaching but more talent. Basically any other team in the top 10.
 
There's no question all 4 (Iowa, Mich, MSU, and OSU) are benefiting from not playing that game yet... all 4 are in the top10. A loss by any of the other 3 would drop them from top10 for sure. Plus, they'll play one of those 3 in the B10 champ game.
 
If there is one thing I can say about Kirk Ferentz coached teams is that they always seem to be the stronger team on the field in the trenches.

They're as good or better than most of the other teams in the top 10 -- Clemson, Bama, OU, MichSt, ND, Baylor, OSU, Stanford, Mich

They would give any one of those teams a good game, and would beat 7 of em more often than not, imo (all but Clemson, Bama, OSU).
 
Fraud.. but its great that they are in the mix this late in the season.. I would love for them make the playoff.

I've seen most of their games this year. They are a solid team, but don't get much press. Don't make a lot of mistakes. Tough D. Bethard is surprisingly good. Both OL & DL are among the best in the country. Jewel is a stud at LB. Ferentz & staff are the goods.

We'll see how they do in the championship game. That's probably the first game most folks will think is real on the schedule.
