Nash - Good interview.

One of the things that caught my attention is that Chad said he has not had any conversation with the UM staff with regards to Quincy's recruitment and that was a mistake.

Did you get a sense if he meant it was a mistake on his part or the UM coaching staff?

Considering Chad played at UM, is Quincy's dad and defensive coordinator, I believe, he should be proactive and ask Golden or someone on the staff what is going on.

It's crystal clear that he believes UM is making the mistake.

The kid said he wouldn't come to Miami if we paid him a million bucks. Why would we offer a kid publicly disrespecting our school like that? Move on please.

Perhaps a good follow up to the "I have not had any discussions with the coaching staff regarding Quincy's recruitment, which in my opinion is a mistake" would have been to ask about QW's public display of negativity and why a team would recruit a player like that who dogs the school.

I don't think he should have to go to the coaches. I think the coaches should be the ones reaching out to him. They are the ones getting paid to do the job.

I'm not defending the interview, just addressing the imagined ambiguity as to whether Chad believes he is at fault for not speaking with UM coaches or he believes UM is at fault. Clearly, he's pointing his finger at UM.

Maybe. It is a two way street as Chad is getting paid to be the DC at the U school. It is part of the U School coaching staff to reach out to college coaches on the behalf of their players.

Perhaps Golden and staff were waiting for Chad and Quincy to show sincere interest.

They rip the U any chance they get from calling out the defensive play calling, throwing a hissy fit that they put LB as Quincy's position on his card, Quincy's teammates on SFE say he talks **** about UM, making the comment about college coaches thinking they are smarter than they think because they want to change a kid's position and then they get fired.

It is a small world and things get back to the staff. No one player or HS is bigger than the program.

Yes not offering Quincy might cost us some of his teammates (U School and SFE). However, we are about to go old school starting with this year. The same cats that are talking cr^p today will be on their knees ready to slurp Big Al by the end of this season.

Miami doesnt want Quincy at cb.... b/c the staff thinks a 5'8" cb that runs a 4.72 forty and a cb in Dennis Turner, with no other bcs offers, are better prospects... lol yeah sure.

im down with this staff but they need to explain there position towards the U school football program...

do they kno something that we dont b/c unless there is some shady stuff goin on, there is no reasonable explanation to explain why they choose to ignore U school recruits, especially for lesser talent.

/ also 2 bad Chad doesnt have rank like Ice does or Quincy would have had a UM offer last year smh.

They probably don't think Quincy can run well enough to play CB for them, period. (and I would agree)

He's already around 6'1" 195lbs. Unless he's the next coming of Patrick Peterson (which he's not) then he's not gonna play CB at the next level IMO.

From what I know/heard/seen, he only plays PRESS coverage. Well CB's who ONLY play press are trying to hide the fact that they can't run. This is why Miami's staff sometimes asked CB's to take some OFF coverage reps at their camps.

he plays press @ the camps one on ones etc.

His film and when i saw him @ the state game he played off man covg. Its actually quite wierd his insistance on cb or whatever considering He used to play safety @ U SCHOOL.lol

to be honest i'll take him @ cb. Do what Randy did and start them off @ cb the first weeks...guys realize quickly it isnt high school and move back to safety and you get to see their hips etc.

Realize the only time ive seen Kacy Rodgers look like a solid prospect is when we played him as a nickel cb. Kid is light years better than that guy.

not impressed with the Dennis Turner take...and Mayes is a work in progrss imo but has good size.

I am sure they will get right on that...keep an eye on your inbox.

This is not me trying to be a ****....but have you seen him play corner in person, or is this based on rankings?

Apparently Turner didn't play the position until this spring. The coaches have seen Quincy and Turner live at their own camps and determined one worthy of an offer and the other not worthy. That to me says about all you need it to. It's not like they slow played Turner until signing day and then pulled the trigger when someone else bailed.

not rankings....but for the fact he hasnt played the spot...save for this spring and thats for a few camp plays....or at dillard going up against their sorry wr's.

Cant fault the take though because in my opinion if u take a flier on a kid let it be a kid you evaluated at a camp in front of your own eyes. **** we offered Larry Hope and Nate Dortch similarly. In my opinion and i wont fault the staff i'd take a Quincy Wilson over Turner...but they both IN MY OPINION play different spots in a secondary..i see QW as a boundary corner/ safety prospect...and Turner seems to be a field corner prospect.

There is more to the story, I guess I now cannot blame the staff for taking the position which they've taken with him.

+1
To be fair we took Howard and he couldn't run all that well... And I recall us throwing out the boundary scheme when he committed... I'm sure Wilson can do the same... We play a lot of zone so I think he would fit fine in our scheme... He's a big kid that is athletic... That being said, it comes down to the staff just not thinking that high of him as a corner...

Are you kidding me? If that was my kid I would have been talking to those coaches from his freshman year. He chose to be a dumb ***, if the coaches felt comfortable talking to him they would. Then all the negative crap from him and his kid, they wanted him at safety from what everyone says. He doesn't want to play safety, so what's the problem? We can't take every Cane legacy, I'm sure there is much more to the story than we know. I also agree with some others here, this should be the last time we post on coaches that don't like the U . If Chad wants to suck it up and go talk to the coaches fine, if not that that's his choice. His kid doesn't want to go to the U now, we should just let it go.

Ex Cane indeed, guy needs to focus on being a better parent and role model for his son, Quincy's most recent tweets have really shown how badly Chad has failed as a father.

You should teach your son to be respectful to any university, especially your alma matter. SMH

What your son just did in his tweet about the U is just about as bad as that recruit putting that video of him flushing a Bama offer on his twitter.

I would slap the **** outta my son for something like that and I'm not even an EX Cane football player like yourself.

You sir are no longer a Cane if you let your son constantly bad mouth the Hurricanes, you think for a second Ray Lewis or Michael Irvin would let their kids do this? **** NO

Chad Wilson's Cane card has officially been revoked.

The only U this joke cares about is University School.

Please don't do anymore interviews like this, it really does give these guys with agendas towards Miami have a platform that we def don't need to provide.

"uh uh you sir are no longer a cane" lol man shut yo lame *** up.

Yeah Chad failed as a father even though his son is going to have the rare opportunity to receive a D-1 education while playing football for a d1 school??? :rollcanes:

Hey stay off the internet smh

D$ was telling me the other day how Quincy is a high-character guy and that our corches don't want him only because of his on-field skills. He doesn't sound like a high-character guy to me. Kid sounds like a shythead to me.
