That’s a big difference folks..

We aren’t talking enough about how improved the interior play will be this year. Miami should be very solid up the middle and starting a first time qb especially one that is mobile I would rather deal with pressure that possible could come from the outside than inside which can be mitigated by quick passes, chipping , moving the pocket amongst other things etc. In addition to that jarren could step up and move around in the pocket if outside pressure happens. the 2019 interior line will be much more gifted than last years oline

On another note, On the outside at tackle while Campbell is a redshirt freshman and that enrolled early, he’s been at Miami **** near 2 years almost and had a strong camp. Yes we are starting Zion Nelson but we have to think about it, he’s been a solid fixture in the starting lineup **** near day 1 and seems to be impressing with no one said to be taking any of his reps

I don’t know man, all 3 are unproven players imo. Scaife showing enough to play as true Fr, but not excelling, Donaldson came back down to earth since his Fr year and Gaynor couldn’t crack the rotation last year after playing as a Fr.

I expect Donaldson and Scaife to be at least above average and I have no idea what to expect from Gaynor. Hoping for the best, but not holding my breath

All I can say is ****. Well done bro.

To be fair to donaldson. He Was playing tackle last season while he had a strong freshmen season at guard.

It was a planned redshirt year for gaynor

Donaldson never should have been played at tackle. And got moved all over the place as did almost everyone else who was on the line. There was no stability, so that alone should improve the line some.

Donaldson was solid his freshman year at G. He was terrible at T last year which everyone knew he was too big and slow for T. He played well at G when moved back last year. Scaife graded out as one of the top 5 freshman T in all of college football last year. He is supposedly as good at guard, maybe better as it seems more natural for him. If true, that's two very solid G on the OL.

If Gaynor can be somebody that isn't a liability then we have something cooking on the inside. Gotta hope the tackles are competent or else it could hamper the strength of the interior OL.

that's why i've always felt the OL has gotten a raw deal. kids out of position, especially after playing well at another position and then being moved (donaldson). 4* kids don't just come to miami and suck. they have gotten ****** leadership, ****** coaching, put in bad schemes and out of position. that is not a good combination.

the most logical explanation for starting two freshmen at tackle is that they want to solidify the interior of the line and scheme around whatever weaknesses we have outside. hopefully scaife, gaynor, and donaldson are able to uphold their end of the bargain.

exactly what they're doing. strengthening the middle to give jarren a strong pocket. we'll chip the DE's and help out the tackles as needed with TEs or RBs

They don't have to be great, and they almost certainly will not be.

But they can be good, and if Jarren Williams is just good, and if Lou Hedley is just good, with this defense, there's no reason why this shouldn't be a double-digit win season that winds up in Charlotte. Nobody is asking for the Colts O-line. Just be pretty good and get pretty good QB play and the Coastal should be an afterthought.

Searles and Richt had Donaldson playing the wrong position last year at OT. He was a freshman all American at OG.

Scaife started 5-7 games last year. Which is huugee under Searles and Richt seniority complex.

I believed Gaynor redshirted last year to gain extra year of eligibility, per the coaches decision. It's not a talent issue. He's a RS. Sophomore instead of a Jr.

Let’s make it easy

True or False:

We are better today going into the 2019 season opener than we were going into the LSU opener last season.

Wow, I stand corrected on Scaife, just don't remember anything positive about our OL last year. He graded well by PFF?
