Great coach but that’s a mighty step up in conferences. He better get some recruiters in his staff.

That’s a good hire IMO. I am interested to see the recruiting results but from an X and O’s and pure coaching standpoint...it is a good hire IMO. They could have done much worse.
This.

Bryan Harsin is a very well respected offensive mind in the business, in terms of X’s & O’s he’s a very good coach.

The question becomes culture fit & recruiting, he’s a true blue Boise Idaho guy, former Chris Petersen disciple that played & coached at BSU, if you could think of a guy who would never leave his alma mater it would be him, it’s kinda shocking that he would take the AU job, obviously he’s gonna get a big bump up in pay but he comes off as the type that would’ve been happy coaching at Boise St for the rest of his career.

Every single season at Boise except one (not including this year obviously because they only played 7) he had 10+ wins & did a terrific job developing QB’s that fit his scheme & found players that were seamless culture fits.

He does have some experience at a big time program when he was at Texas under Mack Brown as QB/OC, he was actually UT’s OC when Diaz was DC there lol, but he’s been pretty much a BSU lifer for most of his career, Auburn is a big move up for him.

I know one thing, AU under him is gonna be a well prepared offense, they will be a team that if you don’t show up to play will crack your head open with their offense in those noon kickoffs with teams coming out sluggish.

But it will all come down to recruiting, if he can get the hang of the brutal SEC recruiting Wars he’ll be alright, if not, he could end up like Novell at FSU & get blindsided by how aggressive recruiting is in the SEC.

Yeah but I wonder if this hire turns out to be like Arkansas hiring Bulimia...Boise's been a successful program going back to the late 90's under Dirk Koetter. At one time people were scared to play Boise.
