...to see where we stack up. Georgia v. Notre Dame in the playoffs last year. Georgia lost 24-10 and went 2-12 on third down while rushing for 62 yards on 29 carries. Gunnar Stockton was sacked 4 times and Notre Dame had 9 TFLs. Against us, they had 1 sack and 2 TFLs.

Hard to compare YoY rosters in college football right now, theirs just so much turnover at the player and coaching level. That was also a neutral site game versus at the Rock. Lastly, Cristobal has shown he can have teams ready to go in August/September but can he have them peaking in December/January? Not sure...

Anyway, awesome win against a likely CFP team.
 
Al Golden blitzed more than Ash. They were more aggressive and played more man.. Just off what ND fans seem to be complaining about.. Searels has uga oline going down hill fast

Exactly. It is at least worth pointing out that half of the ND sacks and TFLs in that Georgia game are gone and their front 7 is MUCH younger and less experienced than they were last season.

Also Miami didn't exactly light it up on 3rd down in that game either.
 
DTs matter, which is weird that they didn't have a ton of success against us since that ND Insider said they're 8 deep at the position.

Seriously though, we all pumped up Beck's potential because UGAs offense was awful around him. No running game, no OL. So, by that theory, it would make sense ND's defense would squash them.

If you take the national/pessimistic view on Beck, he stinks so that's what made the UGA offense stink.

If you take our view, the talent around him stunk (not to mention Mike Bobo ******* REEKS), and he was coming into a better situation in Coral Gables.

Seems like we chalk one up for the good guys.

Normally I love D$ takes, but this is a bit of a stretch at best for a lot of reasons already mentioned in this thread.
