Listened to Andy Staples podcast previewing the Georgia- Ohio State game and he was commenting about how much more physical and tough Georgia is and how they practice it every Tuesday. He commented how Ohio State used to be that way under Meyer.

He then discussed how he watched some Oregon practices when Mario was there and was shocked how physical they were even in an off week. He was basically talking about how Mario and Kirby learned this approach under Saban. This somewhat explains some of the growing pains we had this year.

@SWFLHurricane he learned it just from Saban? He played under JJ and coached under Butch lol. These dudes worship saban.
Tommy Moffitt beat guys down.

That's what I was trying to tell the people back in Oct and Nov with all the nicks and bruises that's just gonna happen the first year with the new regime as guys get used to the new way things are being done and it will pay off
Yes. And recruiting with proper evals will identify the type of kids who are mentally tough enough to withstand that style too. It was obvious most of our roster this year wasn't bout that life.

It looks like even Georgia with years of this physicality have quite a few players beat up.

Oh yea once Oct hit half the roster was tired of the grind and they check out mentally, but that's what it takes if want to compete at the highest level. We need more mentally tough high school guys like you said, guys like Francis, Bain, Ray Ray will be some of the future leaders

How then does Alabama and Georgia avoid the injury attrition that Miami saw?

And that's my hope with Mario right now. He's shown good evals so far with his portal guys and 2022 kids being the core of the kids who flashed the most year 1. Now those kids should take steps forward + 2023 class & new portals should = big improvement next year. The icing on the cake is a new OC 🙏

Yea with the guys last year plus the 2023 guys the majority of the roster will be his staff evaluations so I'm definitely looking forward to see this year the progress

I posted this in another thread but I am on IMG campus a lot and I cannot put in words that would properly convey how hard Francis works. Regardless of all the bells and whistles of IMG and the fact he is a 5* dude he is outworking guys who are at IMG just to train in the offseason let alone the other players on the team.

He will not be outworked, he takes pride in that ish and Big Joe will prob be on him constantly and he is the type to feed off of it. My general rule is no to TF OL but he may be an exception.

Man stuff like that is exactly what I want to hear, it's just different when your best players are your hardest workers sets the tone that's a fact

He may be my fav recruit in the class. Like dude will get to the gym right as it opens and if they take a few min to actually unlock the door he will knock out a few push ups type of ish.
