Interesting article, hope Richt pays attention...

The article is spot on players aren’t coming to college to play 4-5 years. CMR biggest problem at Georgia was lack of changing with the times. He is best talent evaluator we have had in Miami since Butch. But, if he doesn’t change with the times the best QB will not come to Miami to sit, for two years. I could live with Rookie mistakes from with Perry or Williams both have bigger upside then Rosier. Let them play and learn,

Amen.

This is why I never *****ed about RJ & Norton, Kayaa leaving etc.

The U made itself by being on the cutting edge of trends and being a first mover.

Instead of complaining about all these kids leaving early, embrace it and learn to use it as your competitive advantage.

It's nice to have kids stay for 5 years, but we should recruit as if we expect every kid to only be here for 3. That way we never get caught flat-footed and only recruit the best. Elite teams anyway should already be reloaded by then as well, so really no excuses.

"Coaches are cognizant not to throw the kitchen sink at their young quarterbacks. Herman said trying to strip away some responsibilities -- such as calling protections or sending receivers in motion -- helps minimize the mental load.

"You try to eliminate as much of that in-game processing that's not from snap to whistle," Herman said. "You try to take as much of that off their plate as you can."

When people ask why the offense doesn't have more motion and window dressing... :pride:

I guess some people don't listen to our coach when he actually speaks. He has already stated, multiple times, he isn't going to redshirt or not play freshman and try to preserve eligibility by redshirting because more often than not kids only stay 3 years now. If a freshman is ready and more importantly earns the job to start then Richt will play him. Has nothing to do with him not wanting to change or being stubborn.

We wouldnt have won 10 games and the Coastal if Kaaya didn't leave but point taken.

Aint that right @OriginalGatorHater

Or when people complain about lack of variety in the routes our receivers run. You can only run the stuff your quarterback is capable of running. It ain't play station.

I just have a hard time believing that elite qb recruits are willing to sit for a year given the sheer number of programs out there (even a QB from Wyoming can go high in the draft!)

I think part of the problem last year was that Rosier had no one pushing him because Richt wasn't going to burn Perry's shirt. I think he should have played Perry a little to at least see what he was working with and also to make Rosier earn it each week.

Perry was not even close to ready. He did not even begin to learn to read defenses before stepping on campus. That gave him no shot regardless of how well he could throw a football. I agree Rosier could've benefited by being legitimately pushed, we just didn't have anyone to do it.

This is it in a nutshell.

Perry was nowhere near ready last year or I’m convinced he would have gotten burn. They were ready to do it. Unfortunately he was so far behind, he wasn’t even ready to take a snap until after the 12th game - at which point he had passed an awful Shirreffs.

The fact that CMR and CJR chased out both Kaaya & Allison, yet cannot even groom a QB to be better than Malik Rosier is pretty disheartening. James Coley 1000x better than CJR. Sucks our program is a vicitim of nepotism again, even after all we went through with Golden and Dnofrio!

Pretty brain dead comparison to Golden

And thats why I think Malik will have a great summer and season. He came a long way during the summer and fall practice last year and I expect the same this offseason. Even CMR and Coach Brown said in a spring practice interview that he plays and focuses better when he has some competition pushing him.
