Interesting and ominous observation

This is one of the worst coached teams I've ever seen, on both sides of the ball. That is a **** of a statement considering the coaches we've had here for the last 2 decades.
I'm not sure Manny is anything other than the worst coach we've had here. He never played the game. He's not a capable assistant coach. He's not a leader. He might be a capable coordinator, because that's an analytic position that can be performed from the box.

Coker was an okay assistant, just not a HC. Shannon played, coached LBs and defense. Wasn't a good HC but he's a real football coach. Golden is a real coach, coaches in NFL, not a good HC and in my view a terrible fit for UM, but still infinitely more than Manny as far as being a football guy. Richt might have been checked out when he got here, but he's forgotten more about coaching than Manny will ever know.

I have a friend who is a part time professional gambler. He subscribes to a subscription service where former casino oddsmakers do invitation-only podcasts and talk about some upcoming games for the week. During the Q&A someone asked the panel about the Canes only giving 8 against App State. My buddy felt the need to call me and tell me the response from the professional oddsmakers. Their exact response...

"Manny Diaz is not a football coach. You cannot bet on him with any level of faith. The Canes may cover but we would never recommend putting money on them."

(I sat on this for a week now. I told myself I wasnt going to post it but your post made me do it. lol )

I think we are over thinking this.. They just took a beating of a lifetime and then had a home game against a good but uninspiring opponent which they were fighting to be excited about. If Miami comes out like Zombies against Michigan State I would say we have a problem but lets just wait and see what happens Saturday before panicking. Also as a coach I can say when the offense isn't clicking the playbook gets smaller because you can't trust the players not to make things worse. If King comes out hot Lashlee will open up the offense and we can all calm down.

Nanny and Ashee are killing the vibe. You can't blame the OC if the HC is allowing the ridiculous playcalling to continue.

I'm normally not one for analyzing body language and could honestly give two craps if guys are on the sideline waving towels but I can't help but ignore that about 95% of the team legitimately looked miserable out there tonight. Whether it was apathy/going through the motions by many, Rambo yelling at Donaldson for not getting out on a block or King giving the most canned interview of all time during post-game, it's clear that this group isn't nearly as cohesive as the group we saw last year and there is a considerable disconnect across the board.
He should have yelled at Donaldson on that lazy effort play.

You might be right...but for the love of God I can't get the memory of Randy Shannon calling a timeout ON AN INCOMPLETE PASS during the 2 minute drill out of my head.

Great #111 , I watch the bench all the time looking for team work conversation and I always saw bench filled just looking straight ahead no emotional urgency engagement .

Great point, the team feels the coaches are stumped or that’s just how they’re sending out vibes of ????

I just don’t like whole FEEL of this team , it only takes a bad play or so and they’re questioning which triggers THINKING to much that causes slow very anticipated play easy to read and take advantage of.

The team is very shaky in there confidence to anything especially a tough play to complete it.

It is what it is tight out in front, it isn’t going away any time soon.

Pointing fingers will continue nothing anyone wants to deal with till you hear a booom.

Was just watching a podcast on youtube and they had Joe Williams the father of our DT Q.Williams and he was saying how he doesn't like the mindset of our staff. How after getting beat by Bama all they were saying was it's Bama, they do this to everybody and similar comments that send a message to the team it's ok to lose to good teams and let's them know you don't really believe in them.,
Then it was App State, “This is what they do to everybody…”

I'm pretty sure Randy didn't lose to FIU and wouldn't have allowed kids to dance and celebrate while losing by 30+. Let alone award them gold chains.

Yep. What they're really saying is 'don't blame me, I'm just another piece of cannon fodder.' Except as soon as you hear that and think about it, you realize that what they're saying is 'I've given up, I have no expectations, I can't compete with them.'

Then you play App State and hear the same thing and realize that's just what our staff or HC has become. He's 'Cokerized'!
