Insight from former player

Well, he played in a time that was probably tough to deal with. Miami's schedules in the 70's were brutal. They didn't win much, but it was a meat grinder. Much respect to MLB34.

In any case, he's very much a real former Cane player and a good one at that. He just played in a decade that is pretty much off everyone's radar.

I'd like to read your definition of a "true Cane."

At least one of the guys you've said isn't a "true Cane" has two degrees from UM and has been a long time Golden Cane. How would those facts comport with your definition of a "true Cane?"

I'm not a true Cane, but I have been known to knock back some true cans.

holy **** this thread is a **** show . Someone makes legitimate post , albeit not very insightful , and then a bunch of clowns attack him and rile the old man up and it escalates quickly. Geez wonder why everyone laughs at Canes fans?

I'm a strength coach and our team just signed a former Hurricane.

We were talking about his time at Miami and how much better the program is now with Richt in charge.

He was at practice last week and said how the team looked to be in so much better shape - bigger, faster and stronger. How much energy there was at practice and how he's pumped for the program going forward. Talked about how much more aggressive the defense looked and how organized practices were.

Also talked about the new stadium - how amazing it is and that players are going to go nuts for it.

Just thought I'd pass that on, since there's not much news today with the scrimmage cancelled.

Thanks for sharing. Ignore the idiots...

Spot on- Recruited by Curci- played under Elliot, Selmer, And "Crazy Lou". Toughest schedule in the nation all 3 years. Notables Gary Dunn, Eddie Edwards, OJ Anderson, Rubin Carter, Don Latimer (perhaps misspelled last name-sry). Was a frosh when Chuck Foremen played. Coached HS from that time on and a stint at a div 3 program.
So were you recruited by Curci's Air Force?

I was - Ted Hendricks came to my house (he was a Balt. Colt at the time). My ***** jaw dropped to the floor! I knew I had to b a CANE. So Curci gets fired before I can even play for him. Three HC's later... lol
By the way, the schedule was the toughest in the nation- Who the *** doesn't want to play against Ohio St, Ala., Neb (in there hay day), ND, Pitt (w/ Dorsett), Penn State etc. etc... It was a gr8 challenge and wouldn't give it up for ne thing in the world! So *** these azzholes who denigrate the former players.

Thxs for the interest my man- Go Canes.

I m sry- I have Ibiz on ignore so will have to accept what u say as reliable. When you attack, w/o provocation former players; u no longer r a really loyal (true) cane fan. I hope this clarifies ur inquiry. No true CANE fan would denigrate former players that completed the process with dedication, received a degree and didn't get kicked off the team. U attack me; u attack all former players including CMR. Just apologize; ppl *** up.

MLB34 thank you for your input. It's laughable that Notsince1985 is a mod. What a douche. Haha Fletch. Go F yourself you jerkoff. **** n a guy who has actually put on for the Canes. Maybe time for new mods?

Go Canes!

Chad Wilson meets all of MLB34's criteria and he was universally crushed on this site when he posted here, so I guess everyone who crushed Chad isn't a "true Cane." How about Mike Rumph? The guy is sht on by almost every poster on this site as well. I could go on and on. Congratulations for playing for UM and graduating for UM, but you are as susceptible to criticism and skepticism as anyone else on this site. As to my point, I'd venture to say that there are few people on this site who have put as much money in UM's coffers as the person MLB34 has derided as not being a "true Cane."

As for your invocation of CMR's name, I've met him and when he coached my son at his camp this summer, and he's an awesome guy as well as an awesome coach.

I'm just trying to figure out when and where I attacked you. Unless I'm mistaken, I started making jokes and quoting movies after you started trying to fight (like physically...wanting to know people's seat numbers and stuff) because you felt disrespected. You played at Miami. Great. That doesn't make you right in every instance, every argument, and when you're being an a-hole to people (which you were, as were people to you), you don't get a free pass because you're a former player. I mean, who in the world thinks like that (former athletes, I guess...answered my own question). I have no problem with you, but you need to lighten up, drop the tough guy act, and stop thinking you're better than others because you played for UM. Or that we should bow down to you, or treat you with more or less respect than others on here.

Is no one else on this thread noticing how a - what I assume is a 55+ year old man - types and communicates like a kid in his late teens or early twenties?

Go back and read his responses. Very millennialish in how he contracts certain words in sentences...like he's trying to keep them under 140-characters.

Yo Craig, thanks for the blood, sweat and tears you put into The U.

Don't mind our ****sniffing moderator.
