Let’s be real. Any AD worth anything is going to want to come in and do his own assessment before making any moves. Realistically, unless the AD is somehow tied to Mario and they come as a package deal, it’s likely that Manny gets one more year at this point. And that’s if somebody inside the university actually still does the right thing and cans Blake which, honestly, I’m not even confident in at this point.

That’s good to know. But honestly I’m more concerned about getting Blake the eff out of here. Sure, the football program is the one that gets the most pub, but the entire athletics program is a disaster. The fact that the baseball team is so awful and Coach L wasn’t either fired or walked into retirement is mind numbing to me.

Why would you take a year to assess Diaz?

If you're applying for the AD job (there was a post on here earlier in the week that said appointment has actually already been made), the #1 question should be how are you going to fix the Football Programme. If "I'm gonna wait and see" is your answer then you should have been run out of the building.
