I've got worse news for you. Once we upset the perennial powerhouse Panthers Manny will get an extension for beating 2 ranked ACC juggernauts in consecutive weeks. Who was the last coach we had that did that?

They won't fire BJ unless absolutely necessary, i.e., scandal ridden. He is not a contract employee. That makes it more difficult. Plus he is part of the bureaucratic hierarchy. They protect each other.. as they are designed to do.

Best hope is that he gets reassigned somewhere faraway from coach hiring decisions.

This is absolutely not true and completely made up. He is an at-will employee, because Florida is an at-will state, and they could pretty much fire him for anything, or absolutely no reason at all.

Diaz returning would be an admission that the university doesn’t want to compete beyond trying to winning the coastal every now and then… if that happens, then just decide whether or not that’s good enough for you. If it isn’t, just walk away.

There’s no need to spend your time worrying about things you can’t control, and you aren’t a hostage being forced to follow the team. If they aren’t going to even try, then walk away. That’s my plan.
