Injury Updates

Zero chance OJ tore his achilles, unless Miami’s training staff got certified at the Learing Center.

I tore a ligament in my ankle at Marine Corps OCS a lifetime ago when I got my foot wedged between tree roots on a boots and utes run. My heel was momentarily 180 degrees reversed and next to my shin.

I’ve never been shot but I imagine that’s what it must feel like. I’ve had several broken bones and joint separations over the span of my life but I’ve never felt pain like my ankle ligament tearing. I can’t imagine what a torn Achilles would feel like but I don’t think he’d be walking off the field and getting stretched.

I didn’t notice Moten got hurt. Can someone point me to the play or fill me in on what happened and what it looked like injury-wise?

Moten was on social media after the game walking around the field talking ****. I think hes good. I also saw damari walking around on the field afterwards. Didn't have a boot or crutches. Not sure if that guarantees anything tho
Yes I saw Damari walking around the field after the game with no boot on!

Also J Smith’s foot popped back quickly after going out of bounds and weirdly struck OJ on his foot. Look closely. After being kicked OJ looked down like wtf and his foot was hanging immobilized.

Dirty *** play #70 knew where he was at and if I remember right he scooted to pin moten

I posted elsewhere asking if anyone thinks that was an intentional hi lo plus cut block? I couldn’t quite tell but personally feel it deserves investigation. You can cause a career ending injury doing stuff like that.

Disclaimer: It's been around 25 years, but I was an athletic trainer in college and based on the initial actions of the training staff, you can almost immediately cross off a ruptured Achilles. A fully ruptured Achilles is unmistakably obvious and would look like a softball rolled up in his calf.

My guess is he has a grade 1 or 2 calf strain. Now that does involve partial tears more than likely, but I think they (the medical staff and O.J. himself) thought that it was merely a bad cramp (possibly wishful thinking) initially.

Just my two cents

Either way with a calf injury you'd risk an achilles injury by returning quickly. Obviously for next year it'd be better though, so hopefully it's a more minor injury... Or lets just hope it was a Cramp and a super minor foot injury...
