Injury thread

Why bring back Chaney so late in the season? He’s still 4 weeks out, no?

I get he’s RB1, but unless another RB gets injured let Chaney take a medical redshirt.

Come back 100% for Spring.

Because Chaney got a Medical Redshirt in 2021. 2020 was Covid so that’s a free year.

Basically this is his 3rd year here but he is still only a RS-Freshman. No point of applying for another Redshirt, unless you think he wants to have 4 more years of eligibility instead of 3.

Also because when he's healed, he's healed. It's not like a reconstructive surgery where more time means more healing. When he's deemed healthy, he's as healthy as he can be and as he's going to get. Not like more time will make him more healthy. When he's ready, he'll play.

Yes, I know. My question isn’t one of eligibility, it’s health and being practical. If he still four weeks away, that would be a return in week 10, or week 11. There’s only 12 games. What’s the point? He won’t be in game shape, I wouldn’t think. Just continue to rehab, workout and be ready to attack Spring in preparation for 2023.

Now, if others backs get dinged, or they want to rest Knighton, fine. Knighton doesn’t seem to be playing at 100%.

What was Chaney’s injury? IIRC, it was a hip?

He will have missed much of camp and 9, 10 games. Of 12.

An injury that keeps you out nearly four months isn’t minor.

Chaney is another Robert Burns. Two south Florida products who were highly ranked and injured for a good portion of their college careers. Now it’s time for a fresh beer. Who stole my cooler?

So that puts Chaney back for fsu? Possibly...

Nothing had changed since early OCT. GT has been the game circled. With a small chance at FSU.

Robert Burns had a 4-star rating, but was not heavily recruited. He only played one full season in high school and had a significant injury history. Schools rightly backed off due to this. He's a very good guy. We took a flier and it didn't work.

Chaney was recruited by serious programs.

I get that injuries make them similar in that regard, but Chaney was always a much better prospect.

I remember in the espn junior 300 burns was ranked like 7th then obviously dropped. I thought Chaney had injuries in high school or maybe I was thinking of Burns. I hope Chaney gets back healthy and is able to make an impact he has serious talent.

Chaney was being pursued by Georgia and they wanted him bad. It was a huge win for us

the point would be because he could potentially help us WIN... if red shirting is a dead issue with him, then let him help the team win.

Seriously are bowls that important that we rush injured players back?.....Looking at the players for 2023 are more important for Mario to evaluate skill, check the portal, and tweak the recruiting Class according to need. Zion is a good kid, but hey, it's next man up for the dub, and win with what you got!!. This team has more at stake than speculation of a player sandbagging or not........ in anticipation of the League selection.. A lot at stake here for our Canes.

Would now be a bad time to mention Vinny scavo is being inducted into the hall of fame ?
Vinny is a cool.........older dude.......always responds when you see him at games, and he could write a **** book on our Canes.....well deserved...

No argument. If we need him, and he’s healthy, play him.
