Just trying to be somewhat level headed here.

Offense had gotten better from last year and better from two weeks ago. We have a very good freshmen qb. When they game slows down for him a bit he will be the real deal. If I had to not pick, a couple of dropped balls.

Defense made mistakes in the first quarter. It cost us the game. I’m glad they made changes. (that means something) However, that and only that cost us this game. Defense first quarter performance.

Special teams is what it is. A vast improvement from last year. Especially in punting. However it’s college. You can’t leace games on your college kicker.

I don’t know. I wanted the win. However, I feel like there is progress in some places we have been begging for. D really let us down in the first.

This team is soft, conservative, afraid, and plays like they’re the lesser talented team.

No offense but it's like you're talking about the nice chrome bumper and low mileage on the rusted out '75 Pinto.

That was my reaction last week. But you're wrong about special teams being 'what it is. Special teams is not 'what it is.' Kicking and kick protection has been a massive liability for this team. How about the extra point where the center didn't even try to block anyone? That 'aint Baxa's fault. ST needs to be answered by Patke.

Yeah it’s like you are always being tortured. This team can honestly go one way or the other. I guess we will see. Burning anything down right now is a bit harsh. People are ****ed. Sleep on it. The vast majority of this team and staff is green. The vets of this group let everyone down. Period.

Missed 26 yrd FG cost us the game, changed the whole dynamics of the game. Just like the missed 29 yrd FG against UF changed the entire game. You make that simple, grade school kick, and you are down 1 at half, instead of 4. You don't chase points going for it on the 1st drive of the 2nd and kick another short FG to take the lead 19-17 which changes everything. Instead you get stopped, the get momentum and push the lead back to 7. Had to chase the whole 2nd half because they can't kick grade school level FG.

Fair point. I thought he got knocked on his *** though. Didn’t he get tag teamed by two guys?

Exactly this. I've been in denial for about the last 10 years but I think tonight is actually the night when the program died. We'll always be a fairly average team because Manny or whoever else follows him will luck into some local talent that isn't bought but we will never ever be elite again.

Defense can’t give up those plays.
 
Nothing will change with this program when you have guys like Bobby Knowles seeing meaningful snaps (Not that he was the problem tonight).
 
My initial reaction... Somewhere Dan Mowery is smiling.

Playing in front of friends and family blows, I have experienced it, it eats smashed wedding tackle on the side of a highway. These kids and coaches will know this feeling for a while. Hopefully it is motivating and through severe darkness comes light. I feel like a deep cave explorer who ran out of batteries 4 miles below earths surface. What a kick in the Harry Belllafontes.

We were the better team. But we did everything to lose. I honestly, the amount of points and plays left on the field is mind boggling. Coaches better clean this chit up.
 
Right now I’m more concerned about a drop off on defense. Offense now seems to be going the other way. We just haven’t been able to pull together a complete game in ten years.

FWIW. Not trying to be an apologist. Things can obviously change but not looking forward to facing their an again next year. He has potential.
