Dennis Dodd was on 560 today, and he said he wouldn't be surprised if Herman (if he comes to Miami), has it written into his contract that Miami has to have an IPF in place by 201_. Apparently Herman is really big on them, and has been talking a lot about them. Dodd was saying how important it is to practice, especially in Miami where it rained 33 days during practice time last year, and more importantly to recruiting. For those who don't think these bells and whistles are important and all these fancy gadgets are important, they **** well are.

If Miami builds this program no top coach will ever be able to turn them down and will keep them at the U.

And when the indoor facility is built, we'll complain when we get beat because we're not accustomed to playing in the heat because we spend too much time in the indoor facility.

I'd like one built because I think it helps recruiting, but its not some panacea. And that number of missed practices seems terribly inflated.

We've made significant upgrades to our facilities over the past few years, but lacking an indoor practice facility, in stormy Miami of all places, is our biggest facilities weakness right now.

Sure, SunLife sucks, but you can spin that with the whole $400+M in renovations, pro stadium, shady seats coming soon, etc. But ain't no way to justify practicing on the hardwood when it rains outside.

IMO if former players want to make a statement and have their voice heard about a candidate, they should pool up their money to fund the IPF. That right there will speak volumes. Otherwise they are just like fans (albeit more influential ones) who are just giving an opinion. Money talks, and bullsh*t walks....

Didn't say missed practices. Said days it rained during practice.

Remember when games got cancelled because it rained? Me neither.

They should discuss the lightning, not the rain.

Think about what you're saying

With that being said.... How much u got on it!!! Smh

I don't know how we ever won a game much less championships with our constant criticized facilities. I think there was a mention of talent, coaching and player development but I can't quite remember.

I think it is the lightning that is the problem. Canes use to just practice during the rain. Now if the little bell goes off they have to run inside.

Players can not practice during lighting for liability reasons. So during these storms practice is usually canceled and with the limited practice time mandated by the NCAA missing practice is an issue.

.....wow

At the Cincinnati game several fans told me that Brian Kelly made several demands regrading facilities and got them built, then bolted for Notre Dame a year later.

Is there room? The argument is always lack of space on campus. Maybe the current practice field can be partially devoted.
