Indiana -7.5

I'm just gonna say this...

Offensively inept Oklahoma was beating Bama 17-0 18 minutes into the game before Mateer and OU imploded. Georgia beat them 28-7 the game before that.

If Ole Miss had literally handed us 21 points our score would have been 52-27.

The game before those two Indiana put up 13 points against the same team we both played in the last month.

I think there are going to be a lot of people surprised as to how this game goes.

Indiana is obviously very good, but the spread is off. They’re not 2019 LSU, 2001 Miami, etc with more talent on the field than you at nearly every position. We have significantly more talent than Indiana at many positions. The key will be not to self-destruct with turnovers or penalties. We brought our C- game against Ole Miss IMO and still won. This will require our A game.

We all know how a game can be completely different if a few things go another way. Last night, Oregon got shellshocked at the jump with their own mistakes and allowed it to wreck the rest of the game. Let that be a lesson for us.

If you look at Indiana’s closest games, they were against Ohio State, Iowa and Penn State. Our defense definitely matches up well with those and our dline can contain their run game. Need our DBs to be healthy and on point as their back shoulder fades are surgical.

But I also think that we can run on them. I heard they only play 13 guys on defense. And the last series they still had 7 guys out there.

That’s great communication/consistency… but what happens when you start leaning on their dline with our Oline with Fletcher/Brown running downhill at you all game?

Indiana does well to capitalize off mistakes, but run the ball and don’t give them any.

People will see the blowout and jump on IU. But Cignetti and staff will respect Hetherman and it will turn into a chess match.

I think some serious weight needs to be given to the collective age of their starters. Grown men… at least that’s what I’ve read

I get that for sure. But Bain, Mesidor, Bell, FM are all men in their own right.
I’m just saying I think we are a physical team which is the type of team that Indiana hasn’t been able to blow out all year.

legit everyone is acting like we are going up against the 01 Canes and feel bad what is going to happen to us.

This the best thing that could happen to this team.

These boys strive on all the hate, all the talk.. and this game is at home. They are going to be playing with a different level of focus than we’ve already seen

All this garbage talk about them... they haven't faced a team like us... they are about to find out.

Here’s the thing I don’t get about a line moving 2 points, through a key number, before halftime:

The limits are like $500

They don’t take real money on lookahead lines. But they usually don’t move off the type of square action that was putting those plays in.

Maybe they have a few accounts identified as sharp that were hitting it so they moved it, but 2 points through the 7?!

This won’t be 7.5 at kickoff. 7 max. My best guess is 6.5.

Regardless of the outcome, it's been an amazing run. Thinking back to a month or so ago, it was a crapshoot that we would even make the playoff. Fast forward to now. We went in as underdogs to Kyle field, one of the toughest places to play in college football and nearly pitched a shut out. Upset the heavily favorite OSU, and came out on top once again against the wunderkind Chambliss. I'm just going to take a moment to enjoy where we are right now.

It could be that sportsbooks were taking significant futures bets on Indiana and wanted to stem the tide. Those may not have limits while the IU/OR game was going on, I don’t know.

We closed +7.5 against Ohio State and know how that turned out. If our line closes better than the current +7.5 I’ll be ecstatic. And I think it will, this inflation in the line is due to recency bias.
