I truly hope everyone can really appreciate what we are seeing here strictly on a W-L basis. When I was 14, I watched us drum Nebraska and I fell in love. Since then I have felt nothing but pain, false hope, acceptance of mediocrity, rooting for “hard workers” and “true canes”.

Gone are the days of Gavin Harden crying on the sideline on crutches because we are getting our **** pushed in by fsu at home. Gone are the days of celebrating Jalen grimble and Latwan Anderson. Getting a Stacy coley knowing we don’t ******* deserve him, and he’s wasting his career here, but being so grateful for that while he puts the team on his back to single handedly beat Pitt. Gone are the days of Robert Marve throwing it 2 inches 2 high to kayne farquhson, while UNC celebrates on the baseball diamond.

I want you all to know that beyond this, as much as I hope for some consistency and another legendary run, we could NEVER see another heisman player here. Or even see 11+ wins. Cam Ward is the chosen one, that has come here to do what’s right. Enjoy it. Relish in it. Love it.

Everyone is saying this feels like 2017.

Malik rosier was our qb. No disrespect to Malik. He’s no heisman front runner breaking every record in the book. This is different.

I’ve been trying to preach this for 10 weeks now.

Maybe we win a natty. Maybe we play for one. Odds are we don’t. But whatever happens, enjoy watching these kids play. Ok, fine. Enjoy watching the offense play. It’s the best one in the history of the school. Trust me, I need to practice what I preach. I’m very scarred from the last 20 years. My wife just started watching games with me again this year because she made me promise I wouldn’t be such a ****y negative *****.

We wait all year for football season, and we get 36 guaranteed hours of it. Think about that. You WORK 40 hours a week. You get to watch this team we love only a guaranteed 36 hours a YEAR. When they’re this fun, enjoy the **** out of it. Live and die with every play like a fan should, but have some perspective. We’re watching history, and we’re fun. That has NOT happened very often here.

So however this ends, just enjoy it as much as you can. And let’s ride this **** till the wheels fall off.

Have I ever told you how much I love your logical, well-reasoned, thoughtful posts?

Just watched the Cal condensed game. Truly unbelievable. I remember the feeling when it was 35-10 in the 3rd, and yes, I stuck with it and watched the whole thing. Absolute magic.

Can’t take that stuff for granted. You could watch for years to come and never see that again.

Same applies to Cam. We already know how long it can take to see someone and something like this. And while he’s a big part of it, it’s not just him. X is an all-timer, and we’ve had the privilege of watching him will his way to the top of our record books. Beyond that we have some **** good pieces.

I’m with OP. Trying to stop looking ahead, nitpicking weaknesses, etc. Don’t want to talk about next season or what happens if we lose, or what if we had a better D. Don’t get me wrong, we all do it and part of the fun IMO is riding the roller coaster. After all, the sweet is never as sweet without the sour.

But I’m enjoying the **** out of this. What a freaking blast. I envy those of you who live in Miami or otherwise can make it to games. Good for you.

Here’s to hoping we have as much ball left to play this season as possible.

I am enjoying every minute. However, if 2017 was a fraud offense, 2024 is a fraud defense until proven otherwise. Next game is GT. I hope the defense start proving me wrong and play like a championship defense
The D isn’t a fraud… it’d have to at least pretend to be good to be fraudulent. This D is openly, loudly, and flamingly bad. They ain’t tried to hide nothing.

Very, very well said.

Especially the point about not talking about next season. For **** near my whole adult life, all I’ve done in early November is talk about NEXT season. We ain’t doing that **** this year. We got 2 months left in THIS season. Don’t let your boys, or someone on the street, or someone online get you engaging with them about next season. IDGAF about next season. Those boys got nary a **** thing to talk about this season. We do. Don’t give em the satisfaction. We get to watch one of the best teams in America play a whole lot more of ball this year. Cherish it.

The two teams are nothing alike. Nothing. Regardless of record or outcome, this years team is way better. That’s not to say that your feelings about the defense aren’t true - they are. This defense stinks. What I’m saying is that 2017 was smoke and mirrors and most of us knew that was the case as it was happening. The FSU win when Langham’s knee was down. Lots of odd bounces that all seemed to go our way - til they didn’t. This years team marks the beginning of a new era for Miami, built on strength in the trenches and relevance nationally for a sustained period of time. No one felt that in 2017. The star factor on this years team is light years ahead of 2017 as well.

2017 was a luck based year. Our turnover margin and getting teams behind schedule (TFL, sacks...traditional Manny defense), hit very high and we got lucky with a lack of injuries. You can't replicate that. I said it as much at the time. Cool year. Brax is a legend for that year and Malik Rosier and Darrell Langham forever get a pass as only ok players for being there and making plays during a fun year...an oasis in a desert of losing for 20 years.

Cool year.

They Not Like :neonu: s, though.

We'd beat that team so bad, it'd file charges on us.

Watch the reply.

Listen you can disagree all you want with me, but I’m not gonna let folks just recreate history in order to fit some cute idea that the two teams are alike.

After you watch the reply, watch the last three games of the year that season. Spoiler alert - they stunk.
