Agreed. but I think the ceiling is 11-1 with the only loss coming to Florida. It really comes down to one thing for me TBH and it's not the defense. No offense other than Florida St and Florida really scare me and a ton of teams will be taking steps back offensively. It's our line play. If we can get Kennedy, Donaldson, Gaynor, Boulware and Scaife (I'm guessing they are our starting five) to be big bad homies we will stomp on people. If they perform like they did this year, well 7-5 could be a real possibility.

I'm a canes fan and have been for a long time and will continue to be no matter what happens. After looking at the Roster and seeing what this team is capable of if they play well, I'm hopeful for a good 2019.

I still hope for a great season, but I lack your faith in Searels. Ive yet to see 1 player improve under him. The OC is one of the worst in CF, and the D needs a 2ndary rebuild under 2 greenhorn DCs. Its a recipe for 6-6 imo.

That’s getting deep into societal constructs though. They have a responsibility, to their title, to a certain degree. They can do bad business in good faith. I guess they’re all technically totally accountable for openly valuing mediocrity for risk of failure.

However it’s hard to imagine that any company could ignore its customer’s priorities forever. Eventually the football cash cow will dry up, and they’ll probably wish they had been a little braver.

If we played outside the ACC I would agree. But since we play in the ACC the worse I see us doing is 8-4 and that's bad enough. I'm hoping that the team plays like they did at VT and Pitt this year and if that's the case, 10+ wins is not off the table.

I agree, the ACC Coastal is a blessing in its mediocrity. Thats why Im optimistic that we can win 6 to 8 games. 9 or 5 are outliers to me that would require something to go terribly right or wrong. I dont think MR has 10+ wins in him with a greenhorn defense.
