I think its pretty clear that the countdown to MR's departure has started. I dont know when the hangman comes, but probably sometime after next season (4th), and before his 6th.

Its also clear to me that whoever replaces MR, is going to have to be HC & GM, so its my opinion that we should focus less on how good their W/L record is, and much more on who theyve hired AND fired for their staff and what theyve done to correct problems as theyve come. A good example is Diaz, who struggled at Texas but constantly adjusted to the game getting better and better.

At this point, I take back my position that Manny needs to have HC experience before being HC here. I'm ready.

I'd take Butch this second.

I'd take Mack Brown.

I'd take Al freeking Golden if he just agrees to write on a chalk board 1,000 times "Mark 'Onofrio is dead to me and I won't pretend that I know jack **** about either recruiting or defense."

ANYTHING but this!!!

You spelled FIRE BLAKE JAMES wrong
They like him... I dont think theyll fire him. Seems to me the Miami job is pretty clear, they will let the HC do the job his d@mn way, for better or worse. So the next HC should show that ability. BJ doesnt know sh*t about football, thats why he thought MR was super qualified and loved the idea of him being OC also.

Facts!!!!!! Blake James acts as if he works for the head coach and not the other way around. He didn't force Golden to change the defense, and now he won't make Richt change the offense. Blake James, you are the weakest link!!!!

Exactly. I dont really care what their record was at this point... just tell me, does he run a spread O, a 4-3 D, make adjustments and hire based on resume, fire based on results. At this point I just want competency.
Just a competent coach would have us in the ACC-CG every year. At least.

What we’ve had here ain’t competent.

Blake’s not going anywhere. His job isn’t to generate Ws, it’s to raise money and not get caught with a dead hooker in his trunk.

Matt.
Wells.

Its pretty clear if you ignore the powers that be. Frenk is a hands off guy, James is a hands off guy, Rik unfortunately is a hands on guy.

I think thats what Miami wants though. BJ probably told him "I know nothing about football, so I need you to run the show." The problem is that because the BoT & the AD know zero about the product on the field, they dont know what makes a good coach. I mean when they interviewed him and he said he wanted to call plays, that should have been it right there... thank you for your time, moving on.

Im gonna check his resume

LMK what you think. 45 years old. Just got hired by Texas Tech from Utah State. Solid track record of success in hiring and promoting offensive assistants. Quite a solid, but not stellar, record, for Utah St. IMO, that guy could build a stellar staff if given the budget to do so here, runs spread concepts and is able to adapt to his personnel to play run heavy or pass heavy out of the same basic scheme. I have no doubt he'd be able to take advantage of south Florida personnel on offense and would be willing to bring in a Miami style DC to take advantage of what this area offers on that side of the ball.

They hired Al Golden because he made a book with imaginary pillars of success and slogans he stole from motivational posters.
