In-season development question

For any who've played or coached - we talk about player development year-to-year, offseason to offseason. How much if any development or improvement do you typically see from individual players within the course of a season? Or is who they are in September pretty much who they'll be in November? If they do develop during the season, in what aspects do you typically see the most growth?

Indulge my random thought on a Friday.
 
Game reps are the best teachers. Then you'll see the progress as the season moves on. The earlier the youngsters can play, the better.
 
I think we saw the perfect example of this development last year. The team that lost to Louisville was not the same team that pummeled OSU.

I mean, look at Markell Bell in 2024. Had a tough start but you could see the progression over the year and even throughout last year.
