Leach does more with 2 & 3 star players than any coach in the country. I wanted him because we weren't getting the two or three other coaches that wouldn't have come here for one reason or another. Richt was an oh **** hire.

Chryst has only been a HC for 6 years and has already finished ranked in the top 10 twice and has won 2 NY6 bowls.
Dantonio has made the playoffs and Finished 3rd, 5th, 6th and 10th.
The highest leach has ever ranked was 12th and he has been coaching the longest.

Keep in mind that at TT Leach had more 4 stars than both MSU and Wisconsin. Wash St actually averages more 4 stars than Wisconsin on a yearly basis and MSU only averages a couple more than Wash St. The difference between 5 4 stars at Wash st and 7 4 stars at MSU is really not as big of a difference as you make it out to be. None of those teams have any 5 stars. It is also a lot easier to win big in the Big 12 than it is to win in the B1G.

Even so. The avg recruiting class for Wisconsin during Chrysts time is lower than Leaches at TT and about the same as Wash St. MSU under Dantonio recruits lower than Leach at TT and slightly higher than leach at WS.

That being said the slightly better classes Dantonio pulls should not be the difference in AP rankings that we have seen between the 2 coaches.

Believe me I would much rather have leach than Richt, but Leach is nowhere near Dantonio or Chrysts level. Dantonio and Chryst are both legendary for doing more with less. No other coach even comes close to doing what they do with such little talent.

Exactly. If I were watching him for the first time as a fan of a different team I would not have been impressed. Poor accuracy, even on those wide open throws to begin the game. No ability to change a game with his legs. Frail frame that doesn't project at all to standing in there against rugged defenses, if we ever attained a level where it mattered.

He's a freshman so it's not a finalized evaluation, of course, but redshirt freshman is considerably different than true freshman.

At this point I'd say our aspirations have to be considerably higher than N'Kosi Perry
