In order for Miami to be back...

They’re plan b kids can’t be some lower level UCF/Temple recruits. They have to stop putting all of their eggs in the basket on SoFlo kids. If they don’t come , you should still have viable options that are just as talented from Out of state. IMO. Miami can not survive on just local talent anymore

What do we have to do?

My take

-Get a dynamic offense in Miami. This has held us back the last few years. We need to be fast , explosive, and score in bunches without any remorse for the other team. it’s clear we won’t be an elite recruiting team but richt at least stockpiled us with an elite recruiting class in 2018 especially at the skill positions. With the right oc hire we can be very explosive

-recruit at an ever higher level, Enough with the misses. Get some coaches in there to be able to close. It shouldn’t be this hard where we are striking out on literally everyone we go after this cycle.

-continue to invest in facilities, don’t just sit on the ipf and think the job is done. There is always areas of improvement, a big time locker room renovation is needed considering other instate schools are getting upgrades soon. This is very appealing to recruits and they want the best of the best. Push the envelope, the work isn’t anywhere near done...

-make Miami an attractive school to go to. Turnover chain and 10-0 #2 ranking before the final week of the season was no doubt appealing. We have to continue to push the envelope and be successful on the field. Get rid of these flat games, bad blowout losses in prime time games and bowl game collapses.

- when I was Growing up back in the early 2000s teams used to fear Miami, I dont Get that sense anymore, we need that type of edge back in the program

These are just a few suggestions but what else?
Brock I don't see it happening for awhile.. Our administration doesn't care about football. Everyone knows this and until they change

Striking out like we did this year is unacceptable. It should NEVER be this bad too many recruits in the most fertile football breeding ground to be striking out like that
We may have to go elsewhere for awhile to find good players. We’re too damned close to these phucking $EC schools with their bags to compete with them until we find a way to win consistently again.

Ken Dorsey, Greg Olsen, KWII, Russell Maryland, Cortez Kennedy, Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, D Njoku, Gino Toretta, Bernie Kosar, Steve Walsh, Romberg, Darryl Jones, DJ Williams, Sherko, Bryant McKinnie, Jeremy Shockey, Chris Campbell, Jamaal Green, Chud, and I know I’m missing a whole host more weren’t from Fla, let alone So Fla.

We were great by combining Fla talent w national talent. Lock down who u really want, but make sure ur net is large.

Would like to see them "open up" the program a bit. Let the spring game be televised, open up more than just stretching to the media at practice. Cant remember if it was Golden or Richt but I think they turned down a docu-series on the program. Every bit of publicity helps. I'd reach out to ESPN and the ACC network with an open invitation to come down whenever they like.

You need a youth movement with coaches. Get guys that are eager to prove themselves and not dudes like Major Applewhite or Larry fedora(even though I thought it would’ve been great). Bring in guys like Blake Baker and Graham Harrell. Stop asking for Butch and former Miami players to come coach and demand a youth movement. Stop this “Miami guy” myth...our two best HCs ever are from the middle of nowhere.

Stop letting these SFL coaches step all over us and put them in their place as well as the players, start rescinding offers and exposing coaches, and let them know we will not be taken as fools.

Improve the strength and conditioning big time.

Put a huge emphasis on a spread/air raid attack that runs the ball with good O-line play.

Play a simple attacking hybrid defense to take advantage of our undersized athletes and our speed.

One step at a time. Have to win the Coastal convincingly. Have to make at least New Years day bowl. Have to make the playoffs. Recruits will the come knocking on the door. Until that happens we are not close to being back.

Someone in another thread used the term “shadow player”, the kids just below the dink’s who left to go to the SEC. recruit them and tell the wiz bangs to go take a flying sh$t. That will send a message to the “other” kids. This place will be their destination and it will form an attitude that used to permeate this program. Start there and see what happens.

He’s not the answer, maybe if he was 50 or so but he’s far too old. I think Miami has a forward thinking in getting a young coach to put juice in the program in every way shape and form just hope Diaz makes the hires we need to make
respectfully, please stop with the "too old" bull****. you have posted that a number of times, and every time you write that you make yourself look more ridiculous.

Dropping a few bags to top recruits wouldn't hurt either...just playing, maybe ;)

But it is. It is this hard. This isn't all on the coaches when a coach can recruit Todd Gurley, Sony Michel, Aaron Murray, Matt Stafford, but then can't keep Patrick Surtain Jr. or Tyson Cambell in town, I'd say there's a problem with the overall recruiting at the insitution.

Just win baby.

Hire someone like Chris Hatcher from Samford. He has HC experience and runs the spread. Played QB at Valdosta State under Hal Mumme (HC), and Mike Leach (OC).
