In lieu of the AAF...why not a professional college age league?

Think about the talent you would pluck out of highschool if you PAID MONEY ABOVE TABLE. Set an age limit of 23. You would have a true farm league for the NFL and have a legit case for out recruiting Saban and Swinney.

Plus, the failure of the AAF was a result of inability to share talent with the NFL.

NCAA would have to reconsider its current position. If and when it does, the new league would hopefully have enough of a following and revenue stream to drop the age restriction.

Football is a very expensive sport....equipment, liability, S&C, medical staff....who is going to pay for this?

Who is paying those salaries?

And who will watch? 95% of CFB fans will boycott, and NFL fans dont really follow recruiting so they dont know these kids.

Only way it works is if the NFL runs it as a minor league. And why would they? They already have a free minor league

Highest paid CFL player makes about 218k. Average is about 100k. No age limit in CFL. NFL says have to be 3 years out of HS, so a stud HS player could go to Canada and make at least 100k per year until eligible for NFL draft. The reason the top kids don't go that route is that schools like Bama and UGA already pay players way more than the CFL can.

New leagues can't compete with the nfl/college game too much history and loyalty that any new league doesn't have.plus the quality wouldn't look as good without the big name players.New league could make it but it have to start at playing at small venues like an fcs or lower facilities and not expect a profit in the beginning.

Anything is possible, although the odds of success are minimal without a doubt.

Anyone competing with sports ultimate 900lb gorilla's will face numerous challenges some foreseeable many not.

IMO CFB watchers will NOT boycott it. ESPN has already proven that as many of us who swore that we'd never watch an other than P5 game like the Mountain West or Big Sky college football games found ourselves dutifully watching the tube well after midnight on Saturdays. Fact is, people can't seem to get enough of football.

There are many possible roads to achieving success but I won't discuss them here. A market does exist below the overpriced NFL. How best to tap it is the problem

Suffice it to say that the key to any new leagues success is having numerous owners with deep pockets and garnering a major TV contract.

If they could be convinced by a doable LT business plan showing the route to long term success against sports most formidable competitors the NFL and CFB it has a chance of success.

I just don't think the right formula ( the how to do it) has been found yet. Without a doubt resistance will be extremely virulent.

I think Colin Cowherd's theory is that in the future due to all the push back from people based on CTE and other scientific health studies the sport will only be played by younger players. The player pool is going to get smaller and smaller because people are progressively realizing that their long term health should be priority.

If this is the case then I believe that there is no room for more Leagues or year round football. The talent pool will be shrinking too much to sustain any new venture and it would probably be too risky for investors..

Mexico will pay for it..it’s simple. Mexico is a huuge country. A big counry. Surrounded by land. Lots of land. Solid land. Rocky land. And also, most people don’t know this but I do...it has a ocean..a wet wet ocean. Big big huuge waterr..the league will basically pay for itself by way of Mexico

Even better, perhaps the fledgling football league can cut deals with the NBA and English Premiere League and blame the NFL for collusion?

So let me get this straight, your idea is something that would hurt the University of Miami football program, take valuable recruits away from our beloved program, and push us farther away from competing for national championships? Is this really your idea or are you just Trolling? Because if this is your idea then you can go ahead and turn in your Miami hurricane fan card now dumb@$$. Smh

Why would a UM fan support this scenario?

Lots of mammas out there still value a college degree. . . especially when their kid is on full scholly. Not to say that they couldn't go get the degree later, but tbh, most won't.
On a personal level, college football is my favorite sport. . . By far. Please don't fvck up college football. The universe is in a great place when college football is strong and the Canes are consistently at or near the top.
