"Who cares" when told Miami could still win the Big East after a late season loss to West Virginia. He said at Miami you're measured by national titles. Well, after losing two games in a row, Kaaya said, "We have the Coastal now. That's been our goal since day one." Not the national title. Not the ACC title, the freakin Coastal. Something you can win with 3 ACC losses. Thanks, Al.

In 1993, Fataweenie Alfredo Goldenusky was an Offensive Offensive Coordinator at his HS alma mater in NJ...He has no clue.

Teams take on the personality of their HC.

Golden is a mid-major coach, and has a mid-major mentality.

I'm not shocked that our players would have this perspective.

Which is why it will be interesting to see the HC we hire after Golden is gone ...

This.

Krein's statement from 1993 still rings true today. The only goal at the University of Miami every year should be to win the national championship. Those are the standards and tradition that's been set and there's absoultely no reason to deviate from that. If/when that's not possible in any one season, then it's fine to refocus the goals but national championship should be the only goal for the football team on an annual basis.

Folden's slowly turning the ultimate winner into a limp-wristed, low T schmoe. First, we heard from Kaaya how he didn't want to throw the ball late in regulation against Nebraska to go for the win because he was scared of throwing a pick to lose the game. Now this.

Next, we'll see him munching on a Snickers saying "you win some you lose some."

In a weird twisted way, I get the Coastal thing. Ultimately, it is the path you need to be on to win the ACC, then be in the final four or whatever we call it.

However, it's the mindset that the Coastal title is the would be end game that we have in mind that is so screwed up.

So what will be the next goal once they are eliminated from coastal contention after they lose to Duke. This clown keeps pushing mediocracy after every loss.

An invitation to the post-season Toilet Bowl.

Kids are brainwashed. Golden preaches the coastal **** all the time.

Depressing.

The depressing part is not only has he never won it, but we haven't made it to the acc title game since we joined this **** conference, even when teams lie down for us.

I also get the fact that we need to win the Coastal to reach what should be our ultimate goal - playing for the national championship. But, the problem is that it's pretty clear that we've never viewed the Coastal championship as a necessary achievement (one that should be a small achievement, but amazingly, unbelievably, remarkably it has been something we haven't reached) our way to the national title. Before the season, you had AQM answering reporters questions by just responding "Coastal."

This season, the message from our coaching staff and players should have been "At Miami, the goal always is to win the national championship. However, we realize that to reach that goal, we will have to win the Coastal, so that is our immediate focus." Instead, the bar for our team was set at "We're focused on winning the Coastal," so now you're getting the remarks from Golden after Cincy of "We still have all of our goals in front of us," which isn't true if our goals included winning it all (which it should), and now after FSU it's "We haven't played any games in our division."

Personally, I don't much care if we win the ACC if that doesn't get us a spot in the playoff, so I certainly don't care if we win the Coastal, with that as our biggest "achievement." When we joined the ACC, I was talking **** to my Gator friends, when they were mediocre, when they talked about winning the SEC. I said that we don't care about anything other than national titles at Miami. Ten years later, our coach has set the goal in his 5th year of winning the worst division in the Power 5. This makes me sad.
