Impact of Josh Darrow hire - in my opinion

This has no ******* impact as long as Faildon is HC, can't do **** with the good players he already has

Repost from other thread:

Maybe it's just me, but something seems off if you're going into your fifth year of coaching and you still are hiring people based on connections in your backyard. Seems we've heard that song before.

It isn't connections we are lacking, it's performance.

My response in the other thread....

This...All these high school hires and Darrow SCREAM desperation from these fat Joisey b***hes to connect to the south Florida athletes and communities.

This is why people shouldn't post on the Assistant Director of Player Personnel when they have no idea what the role entails.

Why don't you enlighten me then? Because that is EXACTLY who he deals with

The main problem with Golden is he doesn't win enough games. Going into his fifth year Nick Saban was hiring Alabama guys to fill positions like this to keep his staff at optimal level. Other schools do this as well. All Golden did was replace a connected south Florida guy (Beard) who got promoted and replaced him with another connected South Florida guy. The role is meant for connected members of the community as their job description details them to work with high school coaches, recruits and families. I'm not sure the type of candidate you were expecting Golden to hire. This is not a job where a vast amount of experience working in similiar positions is required. This is a great hire imo.

As for the italicized, Golden was lacking in both areas. Now it's clear he's only lacking in the latter.

Thats fair. In that light, I guess its a push. Happy for Josh but certainly dont see it as a significant event for UM.

I agree that it's not going to change the game or whatever language that was thrown out. However with Beard, Ice, Baez, and Darrow we have more input from true south Florida guys which is always good.

Like always none of this matters unless Golden can win on the field this year

Pete no doubt loves this hire because this opens possibility of him getting g a position as well on a coaching staff

Considering he is completely different than Kevin Beard who was deemed good enough to be promoted, I don't get it at all. Guy doesn't coach, guy (probably) never played. Why not go for someone more along the lines of Kevin Beard who can be moved up into the DB coaching spot some day for example.

Hopefully this works out, but he is going to be absolutely crucified over this for stuff that is not even related when the record starts to tank next season.
Because a serviceable DB coach wouldnt be in the position to take a lesser role to one day be promoted we need soneone who is a DB coach already to come in and take over for williams. We need someone proven.

If we suck next year, crucifying the assistant director of player personnel is going to be the last thing on our minds.

Why would anyone say anything about him taking a job. This is referring to golden taking a chance on someone who is changing careers.

Alright, well then you should figure out how to use pronouns properly so people can understand what you're trying to say. "He" implicitly refers to Darrow, not Golden. ("He" is completely different than Kevin Beard. Who? Darrow, not Golden. "Guy" doesn't coach, "guy" never played. Who? Darrow, not Golden...)

Good talk.

or you could infer who (golden, not darrow) would actually stand to be criticized for a hire (darrow, by golden) like this. because it would be stupid to assume people (the posters who attribute every golden decision to our record) would have a problem with darrow for game day coaching (golden and staff, but not darrow). it would be expected that something like his (darrow's, not golden's) hire be added the pile of **** golden can't do right, fair or not when things go south and people want his (golden's, not darrow's) head on a stick.

Ya, good talk.

To add to Peter's post, Darrow makes an effort to know the players and coaches from almost every high school in South Florida. This hiring will pay huge dividends for UM in terms of relationships with high schools in South Florida.

You think knowledge matters on this site? All that matters to half the people is that they are out of tampons and it's all Al's fault.

Now they are bashing him for his hiring of a local Assistant Director of Player Personnel. The people on this site couldn't run a pee wee league team's cheer leading squad but somehow we are supposed to give a shiatch about there bleeding pussies complaining about everything that goes on in Miami.

Just like a head on the bolo these clowns are addicted to bashing Al regardless of rhyme or reason. It may help to keep this mental image in your head when you read them bleeding post after nonsensical post.

Dude why cloud this used tampon fest with meaningful posts. You will be called a Golden lover in 5, 4...

Sounds like a good hire to me.

Keep bringing in that South Florida blood -- on the staff and on the field.

When Fat Al, does something right I promise guys it is ok to just say "Hey Mr. Golden, he has stressed me out, and caused me a lot of torment over the last couple years, but this decision was pretty good" Also he is the coach right now. He is a smart organized guy. I would rather him learn from his past mistakes while he is still here instead of not changing anything.

" Mr. Al, I really didn't like the 2015 class (my opinion is not that, I think it was smart to load up the big uglies), but woah buddy, you really are busting your fat butt for the future good job, and hey if it doesn't work out and you prove you are not a winner after this year, put a good word in to the SWAG 16 kids for the next coach" Stay classy and positive.

It does scream desperation but from the early results it looks like its working. Its still waaaayyy early...but I havent yet seen a reason to not like it.

And ask Doug Flutie what he achieved out of desperation..... grrrrrrrrr...
