IMO, Hard Rock has become the modern-day Orange Bowl

The OB was great for the actual game, that’s it. The OB was gross; it stunk, the minimal bathrooms was ****ing in a trough next to the drunken guy next to you who was likely to miss his aim and splash ya. Were there even concessions on the concourse? I really don’t remember actually grabbing food from someone not saying “peanuts, popcorn, coke,” in the aisle. Oh and you also very easily could have been stuck behind a pole with an obstructed view of the field if you were ~ 2/3 up the way on the lower bowl.

Metrorail/bus only, forget about driving to a game.

As another posted already commented, it was misery for opposing fans going there for a “vacation.” Ugh Penn St fans, annoying ***s.

No one said that there wasn't a sellout or two, what people ACTUALLY SAID was that contrary to popular belief, attendance was iffy outside of a couple select games. Think about the following: Miami averaged under 50k with a team that spent the ENTIRE SEASON ranked in the Top 5 and was a favorite to win it all...In other words, outside of two games, about a quarter of the stadium was empty...

what you have to remember is that we played in an NFL stadium that held 80,000 anytime bleacher seating was set up in the east endzone.
The other 90% of college football apart from UT, Michigan a few others were holding 50-60,000 max bragging about a sell out.
there was no other stadium like the orange bowl, i know im a bit partial as i made about every single game from 1986 to 2004

Meh. Minus the DJ, 2017 ND game was much louder than 2025 ND game.

I thought the same but we were also beating their *** way worse then. If we had put on a similar performance I think we could have hit the same decibels.

People talk about stadiums rocking but in the good old days the old girl used to literally rock….you could feel the concrete move under your feet.

There will NEVER be another one like her not in these times when it’s all about how many amenities are available.

Being 7-800 miles away in La. I don’t get to games anymore cause it’s hard to travel at my age and with my wife but HRS looks like it will be a great home field advantage once Mario gets us over the hump and back to respectability year in and year out. I’ve been to the couple of NC games that have been in the Superdome and try to get to the games that are close so hopefully when we get to the CFP this year one of our 3-4 games will be in the Dome.

Miami will support a winner big time but like most all schools attendance isn’t there when the team sucks.Lets hope we never have to worry about half empty stadiums again and it looks like Mario has us on the right track that it will never be a worry again.

I watched the big games at home and could swear my TV rocked too.
Also loved the view from the Goodyear blimp at the start of the broadcasts. Juiced me up,

I’m glad u said this, b/c even from watching it in a studio setting, 2017 was much more loud on the surround sound than last night’s game. Honestly, the energy felt a little low & maybe the rain had something to do with it; but, unlike in 2017, I didn’t have to turn down the volume.

The 2017 game was the first game in 20 years at home against ND so there was a little bit more to it. Everybody was looking forward to that game from when it was announced we would play them at home.

Yeah, those ND, Ohio State, and FSU fans had some really short Johnsons.

They couldn't hit the bowls of the toilets - couldn't even hit the urinals - things were so short.

Thank goodness half fell on their shoes.

& the situations were different:

1. ND was #3 at the time, while we were ranked #7.
2. This was ND’s 1st time in So Fla to play us since 1989
3. The last time we played ND in 2016 we loss, so this was a revenge game
4. We were on a 13-game win streak & they were on a 7-game win streak

So yeah, the circumstances were way different; couple that with inclement weather & u have a watered down version of 2017 (no pun intended). Great atmosphere, for sure, but to ur point, 2017 was an absolutely perfect crescendo. Blood thirsty fans were there in ‘17.

I've had the displeasure of never going to the old OB being here in La but seeing those old games from the mid 80's to early '00's and watching last night's game felt like I was going back in time seeing how nuts the crowd was. Unreal atmosphere and my hats off to those of you who attended.

Yep. Also, played in November 2017, not the start of the season. The season was coming to a crescendo.

Also, for better or worse, a 4 team playoff in 2017 instead of 12 now. The game simply meant more then. A loss severely hurt the odds of making the playoff then. Whoever would have lost last night would not be out of it by a long shot this year.

Seen 80k+ there many times. Easy to get to, tickets were cheap, etc.. I put a post in the other atmosphere thread about the difference between target demographics and how that has affected atmosphere.

Respectfully, if you have never been to the OB then you shouldn’t compare the two. HRS is nothing like the OB. As crazy as Saturday night was, it would have been even crazier at the OB for many different reasons.

They tried their best to replicate 2017 but it wasn’t getting there. It seemed very manufactured this time and didn’t let it happen organically. While it was still a tremendous atmosphere Sunday it was not 2017.

I saw Pink Floyd in 87 at the Bowl as well as Genesis the same year.... Saw Monsters of Rock there in 88 headlined by Van Halen... Metallica was on that show right before they went hyper nuclear.... That place did concerts just as good as Football...
