if this team was coached by them and stunk up the place. A team takes on the personality of the head coach. Mario is intense but internal..there is no fire in the man, probably why he can recruit but sucks at coaching. We will lose 2 more games with 2 of the best players in the nation. And face it Beck isn't the leader he is hyped up to be. He plain sucks but Mario will stick with him. This season is in the toilet so lets see what out backups can do. See if Beck is a team player and cooperates. I had to buy FUBO to watch this game and get this crap I always watch replays but not interested in this game I got sick enough watching the stupid red zone calls we made . This team has talent but NO HEART!

Jimmy always said the toughest part about coaching is motivating the team for entire season. Doesn’t matter if it’s college or professional. Good teams know they’re good and can get complacent. His own comments on rat poison.

Look at Jimmy’s 1987 undefeated national championship team.

Late in the year, back to back of games at home, beating bad Virginia Tech and Toledo teams late in the fourth quarter. Never really put them away. Beat Virginia Tech 27-13 and Toledo 24-14. The Canes had beaten Miami Ohio 54-3 just prior to those games. Miami was ranked 3rd at the time. Those were the kind of games fans would’ve expected to win by 30 or 40.

Of course, the next two games Miami came out and beat 10th ranked Notre Dame 24-0 and 8th-ranked South Carolina 20-16, setting up a national championship showdown with Oklahoma.

Butch coached the 2000 team against a bad Louisiana Tech team, struggling to win 42-31. This is actually the game that cost Miami a chance to play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Margin of victory was part of the computer formulas, and the #4 team in the country should beat a bad G5 team by more than 11 at home.

Of course, Miami won out the remainder of the season and *****-slapped the Florida Gators in the Sugar Bowl. And also on Bourbon Street the night or two before the game. :)

BC had the 2001 team (often considered the best ever) in trouble but gave their chance away with a pass int that Reed returned for a TD.

Yep, followed by 59-0 and 65-7 home wins over Top 15 ranked Syracuse and Washington.

And the next week Larry Coker nearly blew the season by nearly blowing a 20-3 halftime lead at VT, winning 26-24 after VT dropped an easy 2pt conversion tie. Coker thought the lead was enough.

I knew Coker was a weak coach in his first game as HC. The Canes led 30-0 at halftime at Penn State and Coker called off the dogs. Won 33-7. No need to run up 60 but he coasted. Do this enough times and it teaches players they can coast. Which is exactly what Coker managed as we saw as the program slowly but surely slipped.

Jimmy Johnson tore the '87 team a new one after surrendering a late TD in a 51-7 win at Arkansas. Players said the next Monday practice was the toughest yet.
