Imagine having this guy for an AD..

Completely agree here. It's clear as day that James is just cashing checks and is on cruise control. So long as we don't get too much negative attention, he could care less about the Wins/Losses rows so far as it's in the 7-9 win range.

I don’t agree that he’s just cashing checks and on cruise control. I think he’s doing what he thinks is best, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was a hard worker, but he’s just not getting the job done to my satisfaction.

Again, and I’m not personally attacking you, but overly simplistic assumptions do not lead to smart decisions.

I have no personal animus towards Blake James, I just don’t think he’s done the job that the program needs. He is performing well below what my expectations would have been at this point in his tenure.

Whether it’s lack a vision, lack of ability, lack of being a unifying force, or lack of leadership, or a myriad of other deficits, those are all subject to debate.

Personally demonizing him leads nowhere except to typical message board hot take mob psychology.

I do appreciate your response though.

My frat’s daughter just enrolled at Arkansas for grad school. They Face Timed me at the game. Great atmosphere, & she absolutely loves it there. U’re right, they r turning it around there. Talked to my boy who’s an alum & played on that Arkansas team w/ Run DMC, and the boosters r really motivated for the entire AD.
They care about success plain and simple. That’s how it should be. He prioritizes sports that matter and it’s working out. They bring 10k+ to every baseball home game. It’s unreal.

I know the Walton’s are one of their biggest boosters, but Arkansas low key got some big $ behind them. But the AD prioritized sports b/c sports IS the revenue driving force for all schools, directly & indirectly.

Speaking of, I was speaking to my aunt who’s an alum & season ticket holder of UCLA. She was at the LSU game. She said she loooooooves their new AD Martin Jarmond. Did some research on him:

1. He’s had previous AD exposure in their dept at power 5 schools.

2. The 1st thing he did was reach out to the all the student athletes, male & female, polling their concerns.

3. He got w/ all coaches to poll their needs.

4. He wanted to make sure UCLA stopped being considered little brother, so he wanted to align himself w/ a brand to reach beyond the UCLA community, but represent being the best of the best, so he struck a deal w/ Jordan Brand & it paid immediate dividends via merch sales

5. He got w/ former successful athletes to help him better understand the culture of winning.

Those r just some of the things he did. Proactive to ensure the brand was attractive to donors, boosters, alum, student athletes, recruits, and the fan base.

We're saying the same thing in different ways. Regardless, he has to go.
