"The U" is representing a university.

O-H-I-O represents a state.

I know it's a small nuance but when you go to OSU they do very much embrace an "Ohio against the world" mentality. And it's pressured on the players even though most of them, just like any residents, can't wait to get out of the state.

It's a weird dynamic because OSU is an elite University to represent but the state of Ohio is mostly garbage.

I knew a few people who went to grad school at OSU (law school and MBA) and they all f’in hated it. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Didn’t entertain taking a job in state when they were done.
