I remember growing up as a Broward Kid, and seeing this interview. I remember the Soul Bowl with Dillard vs. Ely a game with so much History.

When I lived in Pompano I use to go to the Soul bowl all the time. Energy all over the place for that one, players and fans. South Florida has the best football in the world, JMO.

He was class of 09, but that tourney was in the spring of 08. He played on team with a bunch of Broward kids (mostly STA) that was coached by Cris Carter. That was the first year of the all-star 7v7 tourneys.

He’s a perfect example of kid going through the system down here, totally unprepared to function in the real world, because of the unreal view he perceived of the world from those around him. Once football is over, nothing to fall back on. I’ll bet not once did any of his “mentors“ stress academics to him

I disagree, there had to be a few people in His life that stressed academics/life skills, some kids just don't listen...it's not always the adults fault.
