Watching so many teams play over their heads and either win on come **** close and we can't get out of our way. . .still.

What I see when I watch other teams on offense vs us: is we lack determination. I think Mark Walton is good in that respect when he's not running into his own blockers he shows a lot of determination to finish plays.

But our other skill players don't have that true explosiveness. Sure they can out run ppl at times but we aren't running ppl over or making ppl miss enough.

Best example OSU TE last night on their first TD. He runs over the 1st tackler. Spins out of a tackle from a 2nd defender and then plows over a 3rd for the TD.

We rarely get that type of effort to make 1 guy Miss let alone 3.

Said it last year. You watch games all day Saturday and see QBs that appear to have a command of their team and confidence and most of them aren't great talents. Until the Canes come on and there looks like confusion and meh most of the time. It sucks.

Yearby makes lots of people miss...

again, we have 2-3 guys in each class that is draft worthy, especially upperclassmen, we're not that good, but we build up this hype around people who haven't done anything in a big game in years.. its time to hold the crownings until people perform on the big stage

True... but if we had an above average OL we'd be 7-0.

we dressed 49 players on thursday. 25 were freshmen and sophomores and 26 players played on D. you can't have that and still expect to win

Where are you getting the 49 players from? We have 75 on ships, 5 redshirting, 8-10 were hurt (Gordinier, Willis, Thomas, DJax, Redwine, Sunny, Gray, Cager off the top of head). Which 11-12 guys that are available didn't travel? Also, how about the non-ship players like 39, 55? Heck, I took a quick count of the sidelines on the first punt and came up with 56-58.

What you see when you watch offenses around the country, is design.

More excuses??

The defensive turnaround from last year or **** the last few years to this one compounded with stacked injurys is amazing....

Then you look on the offensive side and its a cluster **** of not putting our guys in positions to succeed and not pushing to our strengths

Now we're down to 49 players. LULZ.

Pretty soon these dudes are going to be claiming we have 7 players and we have to go play 7 man football in Iowa.

With their OL Miami's offense would still suck.

would help us as it's fewer OL

I think the main difference is these overachieving teams are maximizing their strengths, and minimizing their weaknesses. These coaches know where they are outmatched, so they dial up trick plays, or install scripts that they perfect all weak.

Also it cannot be stated enough, in almost all of these upsets, there is a key play made on Special Teams, whether it be a blocked punt or KR/PR for a TD.

Even more so than our offense, the state of our special teams drives me INSANE! What you do on special teams say alot about your identity as a team, and the fact that we have Lewis and Berrios back there fielding in lieu of more explosive players is hysterical. It reeks of rewarding upper classmen for the sake of doing it, instead of putting the best person back there.

And yes, Corn should be returning punts and kicks (something I'm certain he would jump at the opportunity to do). You play scared, you lose scared.

How can anyone watch college football all day on Saturday and not come away with the conclusion that our QB is not up to par with the rest of the country.

Not for nothing but there were a bunch of walk ons on the sidelines.

Same here. But it has nothing to do with college football. Two weeks ago Dolphin fans were ridiculing the offensive line and quarterback. Many posters were predicting 2 wins or less for the remainder of the season.

Granted, a couple of offensive linemen got healthy. But what the Dolphins have done the past two Sundays is exactly what I wanted the Canes to do under Richt, and what I expected. The running game is all about attitude and persistence. Not talent. The Dolphins have used basic formations and overpowered two of the better teams in the AFC, while taking enormous pressure off a mediocre quarterback. A style like that cleanses and fortifies the entire team.

The Canes default to wimp formations and partial commitment. Why hit somebody when we can hope to trick them? Sickening.
