I think then you can get a glimpse of what Mark Richt is going to do for your program. I am now a big fan of the U and look forward to the success your new coach will have. I am a friend of Mark's and have listened to him share some over the years of his fondness of the University of Miami. I hope this view of the impression he has made on Coach Fox will help you. It is just a few minutes after the start and the second question.

I'm elated with this hire. I always thought Richt was a break or two away from winning a 'ship at GA. Maybe the breaks are yet to come. This hire fell in our lap at a time of dire need. This man has some enormous challenges ahead of him. Everyone needs to line up behind him.
 
I'm telling you we had key injuries (Keith Marshall, Nick Chubb, Justin Scott-Wesley) or suspensions (Todd Gurley whom I doubt and hope that the U would not have suspended) or players kicked out and now playing at AU/U of L (5 current starters on D that would not have been punished at the U that severely/unreasonably). With just a break or two UGA would have gotten it done. Now it is Miami's turn to benefit!
 
I have news for you, miami kicks players out for almost nothing. The old president and HC are now gone so I hope that changes.

Mark Richt not just a former football player he is multi-sport athlete, like the kids he will recruit at Miami. Got to love the Olympic High Dive

Welcome to the Cane family. If is a little rough here. Many of us remember Mark and know him to be a fine man. He coached at Free Sodomy U for a long time but we will try not to hold that against him. Be aware, we are not even closed to being as patient as dog fans. We had a nice guy coach who went undefeated for two years, one a NC and got cheated out of another. Few years later is got fired. There will be no 15 year grace period here. I assume is aware of that. He clock has already started. A lot of us, myself included really want Butch Davis back, so we are not as happy as others. Be prepared.

gator - it's one thing for you to run around crying in every thread about Butch and saying this is a terrible hire but can I ask, are you done yet? This shtick is getting stale.

And no - Richt is not going to be run out of town on rails. This fan base is F'in desperate for even just a small amount of success. He will be supported by the majority of the fanbase and this administration will fall in love with him. He likely retires at a date of his choosing from UM.
