If you don't stop the run, you lose.

All the other complaints are secondary. Even with Guidry's black magic, this front seven couldn't get it done. When Canes were good, they stoped the big-10, "bro-style" running game with just the front four and a quality middle linebacker.
They attempted 15 passes. We knew what was coming and still couldn’t stop it.

Portal whiffs from last two cycles at DL showed today. Guys like Gore and Lichtenstein don’t belong here. Hopefully Clark and Cook aren’t pedestrian, personally I think they’re an upgrade (as is Burroughs). We should be better in the trenches in ‘24, but losing LT hurts more than we know. Deen is easily replaceable.

We need another LB in the portal. Wes is a rotational guy until further notice.

There was so much Bro on Bro action in that game that you'll have to watch the replay on *** PornHub.

Agree with all this, especially the impact of losing LT. While valid criticisms, all the bytching about clock management, play calling, penalties, etc, doesn't matter much without a stout defensive line that can shut down the run of a Big10-style offense.

Until Canes get to a four-man rotation of AGILE, 280 lbs+ DTs, I don't believe it's possible to win consistently. We simply don't have the guys on roster right now--the problem is talent at a key position, much more than coaching. It appears we are on the road to fix that in 2024, at which point blaming Mario for all the other stuff is legit.
