If you could have 1 back?

Ok. Was he always a scholarship player or did he start as a walk on?
Walk-on. Definitely doesn’t affect me but I remember him feeling strongly about it cuz to him Rudy was a sympathy thing whereas he earned a scholarship.

Doesn’t really matter but assumed you may want to know.

Thomas/Bandy are the only answers

Shaq was a nice Cane but some athletes at the LB spot will do the defense wonders

Nobody, really. I don't think any of those guys would make a massive difference on the field and based on what we saw last year, I'm cool with a clean slate of team leadership.

Dallas was by far my favorite Cane on last year's team -- loved his heart and he was a great player -- but as others have said, we're looking good at RB. Appreciated Shaq's attitude but want to see the next crop of LBs grow into their roles. KJ and Bandy would be nice to have back, but we'll be okay without them. Thomas was a talent but don't think he was ever gonna put it together. Garvin would've straight-up gotten passed on the depth chart.

Jeff Thomas all day.

JT4 in an Air Raid/Spread style offense would be a problem & matchup nightmare.

The same type of productivity you saw from a WR like Jojo Ward is what you would see from JT.

Idgaf about his off the field or locker room issues, if you think JT was difficult to deal with, you should hear some of the war stories from some of the best & most productive WR's at some of the best programs in college, good leadership can deal with kids like JT when you have a structured system from the top down.

Trust me all those WR's at Bama, LSU, Oh St, Oklahoma etc are not all a bunch of choir boys, you'd be shocked how many high maintenance "hard to deal with" players are super productive on the field.

Bandy, if for nothing other than pushing Ivey further down the depth chart.

Dallas by a big margin followed by Shaq, Osborn, Bandy, Garvin, Finley, Thomas, Pinckney, Hill, Patchan, Donaldson, Knowles, Bethel, Nnoruka, Kennedy, Brown, Hightower, Smith, Baxa, George, Lingard, Njoku, Irvin, Polendey, Martin, N. Bethel,

If we kept one player on the team that left the program from last years team - who would you want it to be?

Thomas - he’s so talented and would love to see him in the offence, his off the field wouldn’t be worth it.

Garvin -He didn’t play as good last year as expected. I think he’ll be a better pro.

Trajan - also didn’t play at the level I expected, but he was a dog and a true cane.

Dallas - Another offensive weapon I would like to see in this offence. He was banged up last year and didn’t get enough touches. Would give us amazing depth at RB this

Pointless to put outgoing seniors on there as there was zero shot at their return. Keep it to guys that had eligibility and realistically could've returned.

— Thomas is a cancer. Good riddance. Blew two opps. I don't care how prehistoric the offense was; kid is a bad seed and was called out by teammates for resting on laurels and having a bad work ethic. Adios.

— Garvin should've returned and could've helped add much needed depth and experience to the defensive line.

— Bandy regressed after a stellar freshman season where he had J. Johnson, M. Jackson and Redwine back there to help him shine. Needed another year and would've liked him back, but don't feel the secondary will miss him and should be in better shape all around this fall.

— Dallas is a superstar, is versatile is a winner and team leader. Would've loved to see him return. In good hands at back with Harris and others but Dallas is a special player.

In order, give me Dallas, Garvin and Bandy .... the Thomas, only if he could have an attitude and work ethic transplant.

Shaq - was the leader on D. Had some physical limitations in pass coverage/space. But he never missed a dame and made a lot of plays for the team.

Pinckney - he was a playmaker at WLB, but he would guess and miss as often as he would make a big play.

For me it would be Shaq for his experience because the LB core is green AF. Dallas would be a close second to see what he could do with Lashlee’s O.

Honestly, if we are ONLY using last year as a measuring stick...it would be who put out effort ALL of the time. I would take Dallas by the slightest degree over Shaq...but definitely between those 2, just out of sheer owning their part at almost all times.

Honestly if you forget about everything besides what they're all capable of doing, I'm taking JT. But the problem is we all know too much about them at this point, and the only guys we'll miss the most are the LBs because we're suspect there in regards to experience.

I’d like to see how DJ would’ve been utilized in this new offense. Bandy regressed badly from his freshman and sophomore year, Shaq was a liability in pass coverage, Pinkney was better than Shaq imo, Jeff Thomas (all the talent in the world) just couldn’t get right.

Man Ceedee Lamb took all of Lincoln Riley to control. You’ll never know that because Riley put him in a position to be seen in a different light but I’ve actually been in that locker room multiple times and I’ll be back in it this year at some point. He was something.. and that’s my dawg

A lot of our fans are really fooled into believing that you have to have a locker room full of Missionaries in order to win.

That's why it's obvious to me some never played the game or have no understanding of how the locker room actually is. If people think JT was bad they have no idea about some of the stories from dudes who were 1st round draft picks that used to do way way worse lol.
