If we win out

Depends on how desperate Mario is to finish 10-2. Mario may be willing to let Dawson pull out his bag of tricks and let Beck do his thing.
I don’t know. If history tells us anything, we will not be motivated to play any of the last 4 remaining games. Fortunately, Syracuse is A$$, so that should be an easy win. The last 3 opponents are not good, but are competitive. Mario doesn’t view any of them as a rival, so I expect our team to come out flat, unfocused, and undisciplined. If the games are close until the end, Mario and staff will overthink things as usual and make terrible decisions.

If…if, if, if…the two-letter word that defines our failure for 25 years. Think about it for a sec.

we were number 2 in the country on October 7th.

Its less than a month later and were 6-2 lol
How about last season when we were projected to be given a bye in the playoffs as we entered the month of November facing GT. Good times

That's about as sweet as it'll ever get for us.

TrumpyCane is wondering where the committee will rank us tonight

Last year the committee had Pitt at 18 in the first rankings even though the AP poll had Pitt at 23 so there are discrepancies, they had Louisville at 23 last year though AP poll had them at 25, AP poll had Ole Miss ranked 16 while committee had them at 14

Wouldn't shock TrumpyCane if we were ranked anywhere from 14-17, we could be ahead of Utah/Vandy

TrumpyCane knows the story though, we will be 9-2 with that game at Pitt to decide whether we make the playoffs and will **** ourselves

Don't sit here and hope/expect to win out and make the playoffs. Just go ahead and come to the realization we're not doing either. If by some miracle we actually do, enjoy the surprise. That's what I've done anyway.

10-2 record. How can our chance to make the CFP only be 9% if the committee will be tripping over themselves to let in a 10-2 ND team that we beat? Do head to head records matter? Are they going to discount that it was the first game of the season? Why wouldn't they discount the entire ND schedule?

ND Schedule:
beat 2-7 Arkansas
beat 5-4 NC State
beat 2-7 Purdue
beat G5 Boise State
beat 6-2 USC
beat 1-8 Boston College
lost to Texas A&M
lost to Miami

Remaining:
Navy (7-1)
Pitt (7-2)
Syracuse (3-6)
Stanford (3-6)

I say all this to say that we will probably lose to Pitts on the last game of the season to make it as gut wrenching and heartbreaking as possible
This look like a top 12 team to you? The committee doesn’t think so either.

FACTS. Preparate

If things don’t change Nc state is going to beat the brakes off this team. So many guys passed over by Mario (including qb1). Makes me sick
Can we stop this unserious Bailey, Jordan Travis, Mendoza, etc. talk. It makes so sense. None of those guys would have started a game at Miami yet or ever. And had they come here out of high school, this board would be asking why we wasted a scholarship on them. The only reason we know they are any good is bc they went to schools that suck and were forced into starting and got experience therefore got better.

Why do people keep whining about Pitt?

It's not just Pitt - but an example of how we continue to lose to really inferior athletes.

With superior coaches.

We play with chains on. We are slow grinders when we should be flying around making lots and lots of plays.

Our approach is all wrong. Got money. Got athletes. Got facilities.

But we don't got smarts.

The common opponent is Pitt. Here's something I find interesting. Since the game is at Pitt, ESPN/ABC owns the broadcast rights. Normally they would put Notre Dame on ABC but they have #8 BYU @ #9 Texas Tech in that slot. Understandable.

However, they have #5 UGA @ Weakass Mississippi State on ESPN and James Madison @ Marshall on ESPN2. ND-Pitt is on ESPN+. It almost looks to me like they're hiding Notre Dame from the national media this weekend. Can we expect some ACC officiating shenanigans in this one?
It will be on ESPN or ABC. It’s not exclusively on ESPN+
